Finished #ChainedEchoes and the extra side quests / rewards tree tonight. A fun game! And I much preferred it over #SeaOfStars, which I did like too. Good old RPG fun. I wish there was more to do now that my characters are maxed out, but oh well, I guess it’s time to move on. If anyone can recommend any similar games for the #switch, I’d love to hear about them! Heard good about #OctopathTraveler but it’s quite expensive, so it gotta be really good. Is it?
Took about a month to beat #seaofstars on #Xbox, but it was well worth it! I’m not normally someone who plays JRPGs (or homages to them) but I’m a huge fan of Sabotage and this was a solid follow up to The Messenger. On to the next! #shareyourgames
This game has the best method for traversing long distances. Get your crew in a giant stone sphere, then yell at a big rock. They'll pick you up and chuck you across the ocean to be caught by another big rock!
If you're wanting a physical copy of Sea Of Stars but aren't super enthused by the extra cost tied to iam8bit's exclusive version, I've seen the regular physical version for sale on Amazon now for £35 which is a much better price.
I finished #SeaOfStars on the switch yesterday. Both the first ending and the “perfect ending” after that. Great game with a story that really stayed with you! But I couldn’t help wanting more freedom in terms of travel, dialog choices or quests. Having asked around a little here on fedi, it seems like #ChainedEchoes might be just that game, so that’s what I’m playing next. But first for a break to tend to my side projects for a week or two.
Having kept watch on two sick kids today, I didn’t have the energy to hack on anything this evening. Played some more #SeaOfStars though. On the last few chapters now. It’s still good, but getting a little repetitive. Really wish they’d worked more on the RPG aspects. Getting to distribute skills on level ups doesn’t feel like it really matters that much, and the school of “magic” each character has is pretty much what determines the outcome of fights. The story is great though.
