So happy that "Moonshine On The Snow" tied for third place in the 2/25/2024 Fine Art America contest Fantasy Places of Winter. Many thanks to contest administrator, Lila S, and to everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!
In the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY, you have lots of open roads, fields and mountains. I shot this through the sideview mirror as we were driving along Bruynswick Road in Gardiner NY. The idea was always, where should we go next?
I can't speak for all photographers, but for me there's nothing as exciting as fabulous light. The trick is when you see it (and you have your camera with you) you have to find SOMEthing to put in it! Onto unfamiliar country roads I went searching for that perfect focal point. In this case, a red barn in a golden field filled the bill.
Though it may be a "little" early, I am very excited about my book signing in November here in the Palm Springs (California) area. It is never too early to mark your calendar!
We came across this old weathered red barn high on a hilltop in rural North Carolina. The pasture is filled with golden grasses dotted with red-leafed foliage and autumn is just beginning to show its colorful palette in the surrounding trees.
I'm excited to share that my "Old Barn" is now in the print edition of the "View from Woodall" a literary magazine of the Tishomingo Arts Counsil for winning the photography category of the regional Juried Art competition 2023.
