I'm in these about & importance of protecting them. I also talk about how my overseas family suffered a lot from & how I started hitting frontlines to fight back, after seeing my family's homelands decimated & seeing similar deforestation happen in - where I live. I've been committed to fighting ecocide since 1992. This isn't a trend for me. This is life.

TERROR TRAIN is a really unique concept. It’s the MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS of slashers. Words I never thought I’d say: I wasn’t expecting a David Copperfield cameo. This poor conductor, having to deal with a college murder bloodbath. It’s got some really tense moments. There’s a lot more I’d love to say, but I don’t want to spoil it. It’s streaming on Shudder. Check it out.

We believe this film to be an important record of Scottish social history. Its observational style captures natural and spontaneous conversations on the streets and doorsteps of one small town in Scotland during the constitutional crossroads of 2014. There is no other record like it.

THE PROWLER is another surprisingly good horror! Man, the 80s seriously cranked out a ton of slasher gold. I was not expecting a WII psycho on the loose slitting throats and impaling people with pitchforks. It’s a no frills, no bells and whistles sort of movie. The ending is fantastic. It’s another picture that executes on every level. I really enjoyed it.

HELL NIGHT is a creative twist on the timeless haunted house trope. Sometimes legends are more true than we’re led to believe. The film is obviously a low budget b-movie slasher but it really manages to execute on every level. The cinematography is juvenile, the edits are atrocious. But there’s an honest effort in all that mess. And Linda Blair! 😍

#Watching THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN

Hammer House of Horror movie directed by horror legend Freddie Francis.
In today's terms, this might be a rebootquel as it's another version of the Frankenstein legend you're all familiar with.
Peter "Cush" Cushing is the titular Baron Frankenstein, his sideburns sharpened to cut glass.
His goofy lab assistant/heterosexual life partner Hans is simply there to be the audience surrogate and caddy.
Nothing actually EVIL takes place during its scant runtime, but it's entertaining enough in an old-timey smoking-is-fine-while-pregnant kind of way.
It's Hammer, so it's almost required viewing for #horror fan

BLACK SABBATH is an excellent anthology. I am partial to Mario Bava’s work. The Boris Karloff introduction was awesome. The stories in this picture twist and turn like a Hitchcock film. It’s the type of cinema that doesn’t rely on effects because the stories are so strong. Bava is absolutely The Master of the Macabre.

DON’T PANIC is one of my new favorite campy horrors. There’s so much to unpack in this movie. There are, perms, unibrows, not quite there dubbing, and some of the best pajamas America ever produced. I’m giving it points for some decent fake flood spray. It’s a picture everyone should see for the experience.

US is one of the most intense films I’ve ever watched. The suspense is agonizing. It’s got a beautiful score. The violence is unexpected and savage. I love that Peele’s work is an homage to the directors and stories that inspired him. I do believe I enjoyed this a bit more than GET OUT. The film has moments of pure evil.

HEREDITARY

Fucked up family levels up to entire new levels of dysfunction thanks to some nuts.
Began practicing "Toni Collette Faces". Didn't think so.
Fills you with dread before anything outwardly horrific occurs because you know there's more things wrong with this family than you'd ever want to know.
My favorite of 2018.

We are seriously lacking new live-action TV series and movies related to isekai (parallel world).

I've watched every English title in every listicle I can find through search. :blobbonecry: I'm currently going through the remaining Korean titles I still have in my watchlist.

Parallel world, or isekai, doesn't have to be science fiction, it can be fantasy. I guess it's easier to write time travel stories? While I love time travel―especially if its time travel is complex—parallel world stories are more interesting.

More! :ablobbonebongo:

PS When it comes to books, we have plenty. But there are times when I just want watch.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE is my kind of slasher. It’s got an amazing opening and a revenge plot that feels almost plausible. The cinematography has a serious Craven influence. It’s a really solid movie. I feel like I’ve discovered another hidden gem that sticks to the basics of successful slasher movies.

So excited be releasing our short film, "The Untimely Revenge of Waffle"

This project happened quickly: From a call for scripts to wrap in less than eight weeks! So many people put their work and their hearts into making the project a success and I am so grateful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as a first-time producer/director.

Watch it here: https://vimeo.com/821444393
