Pre-warning to my followers: I'm going to leave #reddit for good and I'm blogging about the reasons - mostly because reddit management gone crazy (latest: my #firefox isn't working any more for reddit) & also because of https://karl-voit.at/2020/10/23/avoid-web-forums/
Wow, @FirefoxNightly doesn't even have PWA's on mobile any more?!?! They are just links with the full app UI. I've had to switch to chrome on my tablet!

I'm not a big fan of #discord, so I connect rarely and use the web interface, today I tried to paste some text on a message while using #Firefox and it didn't work, then I found it works in Google Surveillance Node a.k.a Chrome and I'm not happy :(
Any tips?
Tried to open two Figma projects using Firefox. Found it strange that it was taking too long to load. Decided to open Brave and both projects opened instantly.
Am I the only one experiencing this? #Figma#Firefox
I like #Firefox, but it is definitely trailing behind other browsers. PWAs, WebUSB, stacked/grouped tabs, and far more are present in a number of browsers and are all incredibly useful. Firefox has none of these. I thought translation was an extension because FF communication is crap.
I refuse to use Chrome out of principle, and Vivaldi is the only browser that even seems remotely what I want. But whenever I've tried it, I quickly ran into trivial, obvious bugs that I had reported years prior.
Taking my new (to me) ThinkPad 450 out for its first stroll. Using it while waiting for the car to be serviced. #linuxmint, #firefox, #emacs, all working like a charm. Keyboard and touchpad are almost perfect, battery life is super long. Screen is a little dim but hey. For under $100US I'm not complaining. This is exactly why I got it and set it up with linux, etc. Oh, also doing some journaling with #orgmode and it seems to be syncing to my home computer with #syncthing. Just about perfect!
#askfedi I remember someone posting awhile back about a #Firefox extension that collected #RSS feeds as you browsed, but I can't seem to find it anymore in the mastodon search or in Firefox's extension search. Anyone know of such an extension?
Not surprised by the new security vulnerability in Mozilla's PDF.js - patched in latest Firefox. But remind me again why browsers try to render PDFs to begin with?
Displaying PDFs in browsers opens a huge new attack surface. PDFs are complex. Browsers render PDF forms poorly and offer only a limited subset of the many accessibility features provided by dedicated PDF software.

I believe the settings to disable this on Librewolf are set by default…
