Magnolia Pillow
As I was preparing this post and writing out the description of the image for the visually impaired (Alt text), I found that I loved the picture my words painted in my mind. The text gave a warm and comforting feeling, which is how I saw the image. The Alt text is what I will leave you with today, hoping all will come away feeling softly cradled. Have a lovely day, friends.

Late Bloomer
This one I could not resist! It was taken today, in the below freezing late fall weather. This beautiful rose bush was featured in my Flower a Day project, so today when I knew I would be seeing it,I made sure to have my camera with me, and I wasn’t disappointed. I really got a lift seeing all the bright roses and in particular this lovely bloom along with the promise of another to come. https://www.elliekennard.ca/late-bloomer/ #Bloomscrolling#EllieKPosts#floral#floralfriday#flowers#Rose#Roses
Moth and Sunset
For our Friday, I'm sharing a double picture post, both visible on my site. I suspect this moth (cabbage looper?) is chewing through my brassicas, but I couldn’t resist photographing it on this lovely dahlia flower. Breaking off from doing accounting work, I wandered outside saw this and caught it on my phone.
After a day of frustration I got out for a quick walk... (see the post on my site). https://www.elliekennard.ca/moth-and-sunset/ #FloralFriday#EllieKPosts#Sunset#Dahlia#Moth#Insect
Softly Softly
Good morning everyone! Peonies are one of my favourite flowers but they last too short a time. I can almost imagine the beautiful perfume, just seeing this. I hope you all can imagine a warm summer morning with all the wonderful smells and sounds, wherever you are.
Have a lovely day, Fedi friends. https://www.elliekennard.ca/softly-softly/ #EllieKPosts#FloralFriday#Flowers#Peony#blur#Tuesday#Floral
Keeping to a floral theme, here are some tiny forget-me-not blooms in a heart shape, also taken with a macro lens to bring the fine detail to our attention.
This is another of my focus stacking images, taken with my Canon 180mm macro lens. The method involved taking multiple images, each time moving the camera a minute distance closer on a rail. There were a total of 40 images taken to produce this.

Peonies are some of the loveliest of flowers and favourites of mine. They last such a short time, but are so sweet-smelling, so soft.
This was taken through a hole in a plastic bag, giving the soft focus effect. It was inspired by my participation in one of the most creative photographic mentorships I've ever experienced, in #GooglePlus
Even the roadsides are rich with Asters now, so this makes today another World Wild Aster Day to enjoy.
Aren't these delicate wild lovelies beautiful? They are just by a ditch on the roadside, but when the late afternoon sun hit them, they lit up the whole road.
A few years ago we had these lovely orchids. I think when they finished flowering we gave them to a friend who is gifted in bringing them back in their original beauty. That's a skill we don't have. But we got the photo to remember them by.
