Public Service Announcement: If you ever need to add a very obscure #language to a piece of software and you can't find an #ISO 639 code for it, remember that ISO 639-2 defines a special range for that.
All codes between "qaa" and "qtz" (inclusive) are free to be used for anything.
So just use one of those instead of hacking some ugly special case in your #software or adding some non-standard code.
Help me translate the game term into German, when a character makes a tackle or dash, how would it be in German? I can't find examples like this in other games
I found two suitable words while traveling for a long time in dictionaries: schleudern and forthinaufstürzen

While the dominant U.S. economic system operates on this principle of persistent financial coercion, there is (and always have been) an alternative way to organize individuals into collectives providing essential services, without the need for coercion: mutual aid networks.
"...At its core, a mutual aid network is a volunteer system of people helping people and communities helping communities.
Although the pandemic brought it top-of-mind for many, mutual aid is not new. Systemically oppressed communities, especially Black communities in the U.S., have continuously used mutual aid networks to share essential services..."

"...Despite tensions and contradictions, such as reliance on energy-intensive infrastructures like the Internet, a cosmolocal framework could unite local initiatives, preserving diversity and acting as a catalyst for genuine institutional and social change amid an existential threat. While the mentioned instances of cosmolocal production may seem unassuming and picturesque, resonating with the utopian dreams held dear by ‘leftie’ thinkers or hippies, the uniqueness of the commons lies in its reclaiming of what has slipped away through empowerment, weaving a tapestry of both old and contemporary methods..."

"...This combination of agricultural consolidation and rapid farmland loss leaves some locals feeling like they are getting “squeezed out” of farming altogether. For people who hope to continue caring for their farms or start new farms of their own, it tempts despair. I saw this anguish firsthand at the farm auction: in the faces of neighboring farmers who had come to watch, knowing they couldn’t make competitive bids; in a young ring man who worked for the auction company, who told me he hated selling farmland but needed this job to support his own farm.
...Another farmer said, “The hard thing is keeping the land. The easy thing is to sell and be done with it.”
Do you thank everyone who makes your software project a success?
Take the time today and explicitly send appreciations to those who don't send you code patches, but help with #design, #localization, user support, defining priorities, community management and so much more!
Will Ruddick on “Commitment Pooling” to Build Economic Commons

"...Ruddick has identified six organizing principles that he sees as essential to economic commons. They are:
Care for People...
Care for the Environment...
Fairness – fair and secure access to instruments, land, resources, knowledge & care for members from different backgrounds, age, gender and religion.
Reciprocity – mutual sharing of risk, cost and surplus.
Non-Dominance – no person or association to have dominant rights over another person or association’s resources e.g., data, finances, intellect, materials and freedom.
Resilience – capacity to prepare for, address and adapt to economic, political, climate and other events in order to ensure sustainable community based systems/commons..."
Question on #SwiftUI localization and string interpolation:
Text supports inlining images with LocalizedStringKeys. Strings support custom Keys that have a default value, but they can't inline images. AttributedStrings can't either.
Does anybody see a way to inline images in the default value AND have a custom key? #swiftlang#localization
(Yes I tried inlining the SF Symbols UTF8, but that is not working either, also feels too hacky)
