I got a chance to work another GH down here in Mexico. Will be in a week or so. A factory likes to reward some employees for 90 mins of after work, ball draining fun. Sad that in the US, girls in a GH is viewed as trashy. Down here, it’s not a big deal. Just a girl making a living. I love 😍 🤑 💰

Good article on new research showing how Mexican languages are surviving against the odds.

In 1820, about 60% of the population in Mexico still spoke [indigenous languages]… The 19th century saw that figure drop substantially. By 1930, it stood at 38%. By 2020, it stood at only 5.8%.

During the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1920, Emiliano Zapata, who was bilingual Nahuatl-Spanish, organized in part using Nahuatl communiqués. Even today, communicating in the local indigenous language remains necessary in certain parts of Mexico.

And here in California, some cities have significant Maya, Mixtec, Triqui and Zapotec-speaking populations.

Environmentalist and water defender Álvaro Arvizu Aguiñiga was attacked in his office in Tlalmanalco, State of Mexico, on June 13 and died of his injuries yesterday.

A day earlier, on June 12, Cuauhtémoc Márquez Fernández, a human rights defender also from Tlalmanalco, was assassinated.

"These tragic events highlight the serious risk facing those who defend human rights in Mexico, especially in the State of Mexico, which has become one of the most dangerous states to carry out such work."
