Yummy South Indian Lunch with 4 types of veg, juicy fried chicken drumstick and shrimp curry. Hey, it's Monday and I needed the fortification for teaching.
Listening to The Cure all day because the weather requires it.
Finally catching fish on #stardewvalley. I'd all but given up because fishing is so impossible on the iphone.
"Najlepszym lekarstwem na smutek jest się czegoś nauczyć. To jedyny niezawodny sposób.
The music of #Khruangbin has been keeping me super-chill for the past two frenetic weeks. I've been listening to A La Sala on repeat.
Did a whole lot of work on articles and other stuff this morning, clearly in my Super Academic phase. By end of the week I'll be an exhausted and limp bundle, though.
Scored a jar of peach preserves although it required me extroverting myself enough to ask a nearby tall stranger to grab it for me from a tall shelf. (I'm 5"6 but the shelf was considerably higher). Tall dadbro (with toddler) was momentarily puzzled but acquiesced. Whatevs, I was embarrassed but YAY I finally got a new jar (finished the other one already).
Last week I discovered the local store was having a sale of peaches from Egypt so I bought a carton. When I got home I discovered to my delight they were YELLOW PEACHES. To explain, whenever there's stone fruit season, locally they tend to stock only white peaches when I really prefer the more tart and juicy kind (aka yellow peaches) which I had in abundance in Australia. So I went back the next day and bought another two cartons. 😹
The local pharmacy's store brand body shower had peach scented variant which possesses all the things more upmarket brands could not give me. Also at a member's only discount of...RM8. For a TALL BOTTLE.
Peach and coconut scented candle is burning right now to complete my peach fragrance bliss.
Well, since I still appear to be on Masto today, here's another #3GoodThings.
I wrote three poems today which weren't half bad. Good start to my National Poetry Month challenge (a day late but three poems means I'm still ahead...for now)
Been awhile, but I guess I could do a #3GoodThings today.
Unravelled a knot that had me stuck in a chapter of #Rosemirror
Listening to The National all morning while working on my Oral Literacy lecture.
Enjoying teaching (and in so doing learning more )about Literacy. Fascinating field, many intersections with my focus in Popular Culture, Literature and Philosophy.
@3goodthings
1.I cleaned my house, got a shower gave my partner two massages lasting 1.5 hours each, played with kitties, and did laundry, did 6 litter boxes, picked up medicine, and walked the dog twice already and fed the dog twice, I’m pet sitting.
He’s not near the cats. In the past. 24 hours.
2. I found some new music I like from new singer/songwriter
3. I got two books
💸 I got to pay almost all of my bills, except utilities (the invoice is not yet shared).
🍴 Ate at an upscale local restaurant with my husband. It was so expensive compared to cuisines of the same kind in different places but gosh the QC for the ingredients is excellent.
🎮 Finally finished HSR Trailblaze Mission until the most updated version.
🩸 Having a regular menstruation cycle.
🔥 My bootleg Flaming Hot snacks have arrived. I can finally taste the flavour that I love — without spending 10x the price for the original due to not being available in my country.
I almost wanted to say "Bah Humbug" for today's #3GoodThings, given I'm hobbling about on a walking cane today and am likely to need it for a few more days until my spine calms TF down. But, let's do it anyway.
The weather's nice. Not too hot, not too cold.
Kumquats and a mini papaya granola bowl for brunch was lovely.
My blood sugars behaving after I cut down my insulin dosage as an experiment.
Hanging out with a friend, officially my first social Saturday in years (though we've hung out on weekdays before). Trifecta of great convo with a fellow introvert, great food and bookstore met.
Top-notch instant ramen and buffalo wings for dinner while watching DS9 s3, "The House of Quark" which had me laughing so loud.
The fact that it's a Saturday Night and I'm about to crawl into bed with a book.
