Oh no! 😯 The display of my #lenovo#thinkpad Z16 AMD just went dark and the laptop put out a "Musical Tone" to tell my that the integrated graphics are defective and that my motherboard needs to be replaced. 🫢 I did an emergency hole reset and tried booting from USB, but unfortunately the problem persisted. I've already contacted Lenovo about the issue and hope to be back up and running in no time. 🙏
@graves501 Thanks for your reply, buddy! 🙌 The worst thing for me is not the 40 days, but that the updates are either non-existent or incomprehensible. For a while my laptop was even untraceable despite the ticket history. Still, I have to agree with you. I also believe that support wouldn't be any better elsewhere (except maybe with Apple). Otherwise, the Z16 with Linux is a dream for me. #4k, #oled, #touchscreen, all #amd, great build. 🫶
☝️ Wenn ihr mal mit einem Android-Telefon das Problem habt, dass der Touchscreen nicht mehr funktioniert, dann könnt ihr einfach über einen USB-Adapter eine Maus anschließen und das Gerät damit steuern. Wäre mir das bewußt gewesen, bevor ich das Gerät eingeschickt habe, hätte es mir einiges erspart. Sagen tut es einem der Support (des Versenders) aber auch nicht, der offensichtlich auch so gearbeitet haben muss.
Let's be clear about this. Not removing most hate speech and disinformation/misinformation are key aspects of Musk's #Twitter/X and his publicly stated philosophies, which also include his direct friendly public interactions with racists and fascists on the platform. Twitter is the main large platform that has refused to agree to the EU code of conduct and has now been told by the EU that it will be in violation of EU laws regarding these content types, unless changes are made.
Understandably, many firms are reluctant to advertise on Twitter for fear of brand contamination through general or specific association with disreputable Twitter content.
By making it possible for #Google Ad users to buy ads on Twitter by linking the Google and Twitter ad systems, Google is now explicitly aligning itself with Musk's philosophies and sensibilities, by providing new sources of income via Google systems to increase ad buys on Twitter, and so help continue to fund Musk's hate speech and disinformation operations.
The damage to Google's reputation -- whatever is left of it at this point -- could be enormous, especially when Google Ad users find their ads associated with the more horrific of Twitter posts.

For the last couple of days my 4 year old iPhone 11 has been acting weird (as if I hadn’t had enough tech issues already this week). Basically the touch interface was breaking, intermittently scrolling, zooming & tapping when I wasn’t close to touching it. Took it into an Apple authorized repair centre today, and a couple hours later it’s fixed. And now it’s apparent this has been happening for a while. The touch response is incredibly faster & smoother. #apple#iphone#touchscreen#repair
Is it fair to say I don't enjoy #GTK & #libadwaita apps because I use #KDE?
Aside from the themes not working/changing beyond basic light/dark switch with current Plasma 5 and thus making an inconsistent desktop experience, the few apps I do have just seem... heavier? Have an interface I don't vibe with as much? It's hard to put into words since the only one of these apps I use with any regularity now is Bottles.
@ThatOneSeong 2/2 Personally I really like #gtk4 and #libadwaita apps. I get that people feel they are wasting real estate though. However, since I use a #touchscreen both on my #laptop (16") and my #desktop (24") to my eyes (and fingers) the proportions and look in both dark and light mode are really pretty much perfect (easy to grab and clean, modern and beautiful). 😇

How come, as far as I know, none of you ever made any #2in1#laptops, like Acer's Spin series, HP's x360 laptops, a non negligible part of Lenovo's Yoga laptops, or a growing number of Chromebook?
Because I would buy such a Laptop, especially if it used #CoreBoot (or a distro of it) as firmware. 😉
