The Home button and Panel button are back on Android!
After the release of Vivaldi 6.6 on Android we got to see first-hand how much you care about your browser. You raised your voice and shared your opinion with good reason.
We made a mistake.
You made it clear to us that the removal of the Home and Panel buttons, for those with the address bar at the bottom of your screen, was not something you wanted.
That's why, as of today, both buttons are back.
Our mission is to build a browser that adapts to you, and to do this we rely on feedback from everyone who uses our products.
Do you like the look of Arc browser, but would rather have a super private, powerful and personal alternative that runs on all platforms?

Congratulations @Vivaldi, you officially made it! I got my first spoof emails claiming to be from you, saying you were going to shut down my email account unless I clicked on a fake link.
My Proton (Mail Plus) subscription is about to end in a few months and I’m really not that keen on keeping it after that point. It works.. fine (mostly) but I’m forced to keep my calendar and contacts elsewhere for cross platform- and apps functionality/sync and I would prefer to be able to just get my meetings automatically added to my calendar when I accept them, or being able to just select a mail sender and create a new contact and have that show up in my phones dialer.
Maybe @Vivaldi could offer a proper suite of plain old, tried and true (imap) mail, (CalDAV) calendar and (CardDAV) contacts sync for us that don’t need or have use for what Proton offers. 🙂
I would be willing to subscribe to a service like this from Vivaldi! Continue to offer the current set but create a suite and offer it for a subscription. One additional feature subscribers get offered is a handful (3-5) of e-mail aliases and the user can freely switch which address is primary, and the primary is the only address valid for login to the account.
(I know they currently offer mail and calendar, but just tried again and I still can’t get calendar set up on iOS so gave up even trying mail again too. Regardless I would still be missing contacts so making the whole testing moot really)
Am I the only one having problems with the #VivaldiBrowser password manager only sharing usernames and not passwords when I activate it as a password manager for my #iPhone#iPad?
I have had this for months and there seems to be no fix. 🤔
Where does #Vivaldi / #VivaldiBrowser store its #pwa configurations? #Linux here.
I have a PWA or "shortcut open as desktop" that opens to the wrong URL. The behavior of the app makes that hard to configure using the UI (it automatically redirects); I want to hand-edit a file.
It's "Ask-A-Jon" Wednesday and I have a question for @jon, the head cheese at #VivaldiBrowser.
Where did the Vivaldi logo come from? Was it designed by one of your team?

We believe in choice. Thus we are thrilled that there will be a browser choice screen on mobile phones in Europe. It is better when there is choice and competition and luckily there is a fair amount of browsers to choose from at this time.
Microsoft is trying to convince you that you should not try other browsers, that Edge is good enough. They are sadly not the only ones.
IMHO all major OS should provide a browser choice. Clearly Windows should and IMHO MacOS should as well and all iOS based devices, not just phones.
I‘m writing some documentation for better site-integrating with :vivaldi_red: #VivaldiBrowser-specific features for web developers. Anything you‘d like to see documented? My list so far includes Tab Notifications, Fast Forward, Accent Theme Colors, and more. #devRel#webDev#webCompat
At work I need a #Browser with Chromium Devtools. So I'm about to switch from Chrome as a work browser (finally). Chrome extension support is mandatory.
Brave is out obviously. Edge is a cluttered mess these days. Is #VivaldiBrowser still a good option?
Vivaldi browser keeps on givin' during the holidays.

The Pomodoro technique is a time management method that is based on two principles. The first principle involves focusing on work for a limited amount of time, usually around 30 minutes. The second principle applies to taking regular breaks during which you clear your mind. You can install the Pomodoro app on your #Linux device to increase productivity. For more information on how to do this, see https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/repetitive-strain-injury-prevention-software.html#pomodoro page.
I just tried Vivaldi (mainly to try their RSS reader) and I'm delighted with it so far.
The ad blocking not only stops the ad, it lays out the site without the big blank chunks. Nice. Pages just load without the content dancing up and down while you wait for the ad layouts to get parsed.
