Maybe somebody on the Fedi knows this.

I use Gnome Pomodoro (https://gnomepomodoro.org/) to keep my sanity and be productive. It's really useful, but I'd like to get some more statistics on my Pomodoro's. It can execute shell commands based on certain actions (completion, pause, resume etc etc)

Is there some piece of webbased software available, which I can use to hook into Gnome Pomodoro to get those statistics out ? 🤔

Boosting is 🙏

Have you ever thought of budgeting your time like money? Well, I did, and I have noticed that I am more productive, I avoid burning myself out, and I've been able to adapt to unexpected things that happen during my day without completely losing my day in the process. Most importantly, however, I feel a lot less stressed out about my schedule.

For people that are tired of rational focus timers or 25 minute pomodoro - I made this:

A rough prototype of a focus timer base on Tau minutes.

The code is completely stream of conscious mess for now, but it works (slow on some machines).

the alarm is tau - notes mapped to the digits of tau.

to cheat your alarm, press c or click x (to go straight to the music)

Today I learned about or , a variant of that doesn't disrupt a flow state.

Instead of a timer that counts down, it's a stopwatch that counts up. You focus and work until your concentration falters, then the length of the break you take is based on how long you focused. If you can get into the state for 2.5 hours and you take 1/5 break time, then you take a 30 min break before starting your next session.

The Pomodoro technique is a time management method that is based on two principles. The first principle involves focusing on work for a limited amount of time, usually around 30 minutes. The second principle applies to taking regular breaks during which you clear your mind. You can install the Pomodoro app on your device to increase productivity. For more information on how to do this, see https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/repetitive-strain-injury-prevention-software.html#pomodoro page.

The Work Louder Nomad looks niiiiiiiice. Has a digital info screen with timer, system stats, even a fun little tamagotchi-style companion. Low profile keycaps and "Atomic " switches. Hotswappable. Knobs reminiscent of TeenageEngineering equipment. Pricey but god how meesa want it. Preorder status right now.

Finally got inspired to start a project where I can use my 5x5 neopixel board that comes with an ESP32-C3 on the back. It's a pomodoro timer with cooldown and blink pattern afterwards. Printed a little visor with filamentum's wizard's vodoo color.

Thank you @anu1905 for posting your crocheted cyberdeckchair :)

a 5x5 led matrix where randomly green LEDs turn dark and the group color turns slowly red. then its blue leds turning of randomy until all are gone and it blinks pink.

Versuche mit Pomodoro-Technik Dinge zu erledigen. Klappt natürlich nicht. Funktioniert das irgendwann wenn ich es weiter versuche? Oder ist Pomodoro für neurotypische Menschen gedacht?

So, Gen X and older followers, what's creaking/aching/making you groan and wish you were 20 years younger today?

I'll start. Nothing creaks except for my neck; when it does, it's like a movie sound effect when someone gets their neck snapped. It's completely painless but reminds me of creaks and cracks yet to come.

mral,

@dancinyogi I have to remember to set the so that I step away from the computer every half hour and stretch or my lower back will not be happy and let me know for days.

This is a real shot in the dark, but I've been looking for a very specific kind of off and on for years and I haven't found one yet, so....

My requirements:
-a physical object I have to get off my ass to turn off.
-it must have a silent alarm mode. (ie flashing lights, blinking display, etc)
-it must be easy to set a ~45min timer (ie not pressing a button 45 times)
-the alarm must not turn itself off quickly (at least 5 mins, but more is better)

The last one is the tricky part. Everything stops after a minute! 😭

I created this timer web app for my kid to help him stay on track while getting dressed, doing homework, etc. It can do simple countdowns of 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes. It can also do an alternating 10 minutes of study with 3 minute break timer. Also, it can hoot at you every 30 seconds because of course it can. Free to use for anyone who finds it helpful.

I'm thinking about starting using a app, can anyone recommend a good one? I'm looking for something simple but customizable, where I can set the length and whether it restarts automatically, and which shows time in the menu bar, but not in a way that draws attention too much 🍅🍅
