Ah. 5:30 am in #Boulder and it's so lovely to wake up to the FTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT PBBBBBBRRRR FTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT PBBBBRRRRRR of yard sprinklers.
Special shout out to the apartment that has a sprinkler that just sprays the nearby shed with a high powered jet (power washer on plastic) and the neighbors who spray across their metal mailbox pole (high-pitched ringing every 10 seconds)

More #Babylon5 thoughts. We just got to season 2 and the show has dramatically improved, though it was a pretty low bar.
I do notice that every single female character is always wearing intense lipstick at all times, including all the aliens and also the lady in the hospital who just woke up from a 100-year cryo sleep.
Man the 90s were weird.

Well I've never milled someone out with my aggro #commander deck before.

I was playing an Iroas deck against a Gitrog deck.

Iroas pretty much only kills by attacking.
The Gitrog player played Constant Mists every turn, meaning I couldn't deal combat damage.

I managed to win by putting a Helm of the Host on Etali, and attacking with an ever-increasing number of Etalis.

By the end I was exiling and casing 15 spells from OP's deck every turn.

Then they ran out of cards

Biiiiig Rima.
My #DnD character, Rima Sahr, is a rune knight fighter. Rune Knights studied the magic of giants and have the ability to grow a size larger in combat. If you then case enlarge/reduce on them, they double in size again.
I have a 3D printer.

She's already the size of an action figure and I still need to print a huge and a gargantuan version (at 18th level I can become size huge before casting the growth spell)

I'm watching #Babylon5 and we're near the end of season 1.
Definitely discount DS9 so far. They sure did include an episode where the creepy 50-something alien dude decided to introduce another character to strip clubs and gambling, and the way he cheats at poker is using some sort of prehensile sticky tentacle-like appendage to reach across under the table and steal cards from the dealer.
Later confirmed, yes. That sure was a sex organ.
I'm glad that kind of humor has mostly died.

So I'm not saying my Gisa and Geralf #MTG #Commander deck is an aggro deck, but it did get my opponent to 5 on only 3 lands.
(Note that my commander and most of the deck is 4+ mana)
Turns out, Gravecrawler, Diregraf Colossus, and Corpse Blockade are very good friends.

(Ignore the fact that my opponent played no relevant spells for the first 5 turns of the game).

Of course then I was still stuck on 3 lands and proceeded to die quickly.

And yes I also grew up learning queer-phobia but I was at least smart enough to see through the bullshit.

Thus, every time I mute someone because of a political post, I've resolved to make a post about whatever magic stuff I've been thinking of recently.

Just got my Outlaws of Thunder Junction #MTG decks. Overall, I think they're fine.
The blue red spells deck actually has a low mana curve and might be the most functional blue red precon they've printed.
The outlaws deck really lacked removal, which is surprising in Mardu. Olivia as a commander is a little weak and the deck didn't do much.
The Gonti deck stole everyone's cards just fine, but didn't have much reward for playing them.

The card I'm most excited to play from the new #MTG set is Laughing Jasper Flint. I play a Prosper Tome-Bound deck where the whole point is exile and play as many things as possible (deck go brrrrrrr).
Jasper Flint gonna be so much gas! I get 2 free cards at first and then even more as I play them? yes please!

Every time I watch a movie practical effects video (first it was The Lord of the Rings bonus dvds, currently is the star wars Light & Magic series) I'm convinced that one of my life's callings is movie effects.
I already love painting minis, crafting detailed terrain and environments, and sewing. I could totally be an effects person for a movie (after my other careers as aerospace engineer and geologist).
I'd even put that one ahead of my career as a soundtrack musician or park ranger.

@Ansi since you always post about rocket launches, I wanted to let you know that we might be launching 2 sounding rockets from Poker Flat Research Range this weekend
We're part of the first ever solar flare rocket campaign and we're sitting on the launch pad for 4 hours a day waiting for a solar flare. Our exact launch date and time is dependent on the Sun, but our window is open from 11:45 am - 3:45 pm from Saturday till Thursday, though we expect to launch this weekend

A similar view, but this one is looking south along the Front Range towards the Flatirons. To the right the land rises to the first peaks of the rocky mountains. To the left the land dips to the Boulder Valley and beyond it the plains. Brilliant white clouds scudd across the blue sky. Some patches of snow can be seen hidden in craigs and north-facing valleys on the mountain faces.
