Kitten now has a lovely new multi-page Settings screen andโ€ฆ drumrollโ€ฆ a new ๐Ÿข interactive shell (REPL) for you to play with the running state of your Small Web site/app/place and debug your app, inspect/manipulate its database, etc.

I plan on recording demos of each of them tomorrow but you can play with them now.

PS. Since itโ€™s not a common thing in โ€˜Big Webโ€™ development, note that the Settings app is part of Kittenโ€™s own internal web app that is available to all Small Web apps created using Kitten. So all those Small Web apps will be able to take advantage of data portability with backup/restore, Domain integration for managing your hosting account with your domain host, evergreen web, public-key encryption for e2ee peer-to-peer web apps (Small Web), etc.

Itโ€™s all slowly coming together :)

Love that we here in Germany are basically prohibited from getting vaccinations, even voluntarily, unless we meet certain condition โ€“ mostly age and existing illness.

With everything that's going on in the world, at least Birdseye - a self-proclaimed ethical fishing business, owned by a massive conglomerate, previously fined billions for fraud, artificially inflating the value of produce, price fixing, overturning ethical standards, discrimination, hazardous working conditions, destroying culturally significant land for offices and public health violations - but apart from all that (and all of the product recalls for E.coli, Salmonella and fatal bronchiolitis), an ethical fishing company who use the highly destructive bottom trawlers (responsible for damaging up to half of Norwayโ€™s cold water corals reefs), but apart from that an ethical fishing company who buy a third of their produce from pirates who deal in illegal catches and over-fishing.....have commissioned someone to spend 100 hours to make a cute miniature sandwich! @kde @kde Guess what, Firefox does the same thing (a refresh will reset your privacy settings and your default browser, all of which affect Mozillaโ€™s revenue streams) but theyโ€™re a tad sneakier/cleverer(?) about it.

(Firefox is not private by default so getting you to reset your settings is how they try to influence you to return to their preferred configuration.)

Going to the restroom for a trans woman can be so anxiety inducing. I know for me it can be anyway. All I wanna do is get in and get out without any issues, hassles or problems.

But I had something happen while I was at lunch with my mother in-law that was rather affirming as a woman. Itโ€™s the opposite of what Iโ€™ve imagined could happen to me going to the womenโ€™s restroom.

I was washing my hands when a woman about my age came out of the other stall. She looked at me, straight in the face and asked if I could zip up the back of her dress. She didnโ€™t even wait for a response. She just turned around and pulled up her hair. Then said, โ€œItโ€™s so hard to do this by yourself. So much easier when you have help. Thanks.โ€

She didnโ€™t see me as a predator. Didnโ€™t see me as someone who shouldnโ€™t be in there. She saw me as another woman who simply would understand the need to have help zipping up the back of her dress.

I almost started crying.

I, a trans girl, went into the womenโ€™s restroom and nothing happened, except for another woman asked for my help.

@matty Theyโ€™re stuck between two candidates. As the centrist/neoliberal Democrats would rather see Trump in power than a left-wing politician like Bernie Sanders, the only two choices are Biden and Trump right now unless either or both of them croak before the election. But, beyond that, any criticism of Biden arming and funding a genocide in Palestine is being painted as rooting for Trump and folks are being told: โ€œShut up and vote for Biden or youโ€™re helping get Trump elected.โ€
