I love that a multi-billion-dollar corporation like RedHat/IBM can ship an operating system with a broken screen reader in 2024 (it’s not just them, it’s true for basically every major Linux distribution today) and, when you point it out, the response is “it’s no one’s fault… it’s all free labour… it’s FOSS, man”. And then: oh, and this charity is paying for one person to work on accessibility support to be implemented now… Anyone else see how fucked up that is?

What if we changed the rules so that if a US presidential candidate that supports arming Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people wins, 15,000 American kids are randomly chosen and killed. Just installing Fedora Silverblue and realised that if you boot into the USB disk in legacy mode, it does a legacy install. If you boot into it in UEFI, it does a UEFI install.

Wish this was made clear in the interface and you could actually choose what you wanted. I mean, I really think UEFI should be the default no matter what these days with the option to change it if you really want to, no?

Quick heads up: Kitten’s installer/downloads will be offline for a few minutes as I recreate kittens.small-web.org (the site that new Kittens are deployed to when they’re born) as it was originally on Ubuntu and sites deployed by Domain are now using AlmaLinux. Also, I am setting Kitten’s API version to 0 (it was initially set to 1) to signal that it is prerelease. When the version is back to 1 it will be because API version 1 is stable.
