When someone says “vote”, they are saying “vote.” Voting is important, requires our participation, and has direct effects on our lives and the lives of our children, friends, and fellow residents of the planet.

Saying “vote” is not saying “only vote” or “vote and do nothing else” or “voting will fix everything in the U.S. immediately.”

If someone says “be careful driving” as you go out the door, they’re not saying “only be careful driving and be reckless everywhere else.”

This is easy stuff.

Get out and vote, people. We will continue to see these small-minded, homophobic decisions unless we clean house. It will take a generation at least. I hope voters have the stamina and patience.

Then people can force cases like these back up where they can be overturned. These yahoos have established there is no such thing as precedent, anyway.

Hamtramck, Michigan also has a Muslim majority city council

Yay diversity right?

Mayor Ghalib is quoted saying he tries to govern fairly for everyone

…but

He said LGBTQ+ supporters are “forcing their agendas on others”

The Muslim city council added the pride flag clashes with the beliefs of members of their faith

And the city has now banned Pride flags on public property

A religion isn’t the problem

If you’d asked me just twelve hours ago whether I hoped to be able to post a picture for , I would have said “no”.

I would have said I’d given up all hope of coming home after 26 days away 😿

And I would have been wrong 😱

As it is, I’m just amazed & grateful that he returned shortly after midnight last night. Very skinny, but otherwise seemingly well & very loud 😺🥰

It’s a toad party! The neighborhood cane toads gather around our homemade termite diversion tool! On warm spring nights, the termites swarm for about an hour or so. We put these lights out in our yard to divert them from our home. We turned most of the lights off in the house.
