polarity

@polarity@social.bitwig.community

I've been making #music for as long as I can remember. How successful everyone can define for themselves, but I still have a lot of fun exploring sound worlds. With my #tutorials on youtube I try to bring people closer to #bitwig and inspire them. I also often post modular #ambient experiments in small videos here and on #instagram. Making music doesn't have to be complicated, it should be fun and stimulate new ideas. #berlin #fhain #musicproduction

Can you guys share some links to open source software or projects that you support with a monthly or one-time donation? It might turn into a cool list. Open source software is super important beyond just avoiding lock-in models, and a few donations can really save crucial projects.

I popped in today to cook up a headbanging drum and bass mix. Hope you guys like it. But mainly, I made it for myself and my daily walks. I tried again to mix the styles and get those long transitions right. Think one transition was a bit off, but who cares? Drop a comment with wishes, ideas, or critiques.

In the video, I use the free plugin PaulXStretch 23 times. In each instance, I've recorded one note and a unique sound from the Korg Triton. Each instance also has a different recording length, different panning and stretches the sample differently. It's always great to see and hear how you can create soundscapes with such simple workflows.

Being active on Twitter means supporting the right-wing agenda. Right-wing trolling doesn't work without the left taking the bait. That's the engine behind political social media platforms. That's why right-wing sites like Parler, Gab, or Truth Social don't take off. There aren't any lefties there jumping through hoops, angrily reposting headlines and nonsense, confirming they've struck a nerve.

I was a bit bored today and thought I'd record a few sequences while playing on my synths. Nothing special, just messing around. The bass comes from the Poly-D, arps from the M32, drums from the DFAM, and a Drone + Pianoteq from Bitwig. I havent saved it, just a throwaway jam.

We all know how important it is to produce precise music. It's more important than anything else. Ideas, harmonies, and arrangement are overrated. If the kick drum doesn't bang precisely and the sidechain doesn't grab accurately, then all the effort is for nothing.

This new German plugin is very precise and therefore good.

This page will show you how to turn a $199.95 pair of Sennheiser HD 555 headphones into a pair of Sennheiser HD 595‘s that cost $349.95. And all you need is a screwdriver.

the only physical difference was an additional piece of foam inside the cheaper HD555 headphones, So to save yourself $150, open your HD 555’s up and remove the foam. Done.

You can actually mix down tracks without relying on dynamic processors.

Here's a tip: next time you're having trouble with a mix, ditch all the compressors and limiters on your bus or master track. Just focus on levels and EQ. Cut out any unnecessary peaks and frequencies right at the beginning with a track clipper and some low/high cuts.

By stripping away plugins, you limit your options, which helps you concentrate on what really matters.

Kagi has introduced a new initiative called "Small Web" to highlight non-commercial, individual content on the internet.

The project aims to make this type of content easily discoverable through Kagi's search results, and it features a curated list of nearly 6,000 genuine websites. The entire initiative is open-source and community-driven.

Am I the only one feeling like there's a big shift happening in art, music, movies, and gaming? It's like we're moving towards more underground, indie, and smaller platforms. Big Social Media is crumbling, people are flocking back to forums or tiny networks.

Nobody's into Spotify, Facebook, Hollywood, and triple-A games anymore. A lot of hit games come from small studios, like Palworld or Helldivers, and music is often bought from Bandcamp artists' websites. Hollywood's losing its grip, while small studios like A24 are on the rise. I think it's great.
