I'm looking into #ActivityPub platforms to share music on, and it seems like only #Funkwhale does that. But to be honest it does seem a little confusing to new users for me. I wonder if anyone's using #Peertube for audio files/music and what's their experience. Its youtube-like interface seems far more familiar to me, and I still mostly listen to music on youtube tbh (never made a spotify account). Any thoughts/suggestions welcome, thanks.
FW could be great but it's definitely not there yet. It should prioritize being something like Mastodon + Bandcamp pages first. Get artists on the fedi. Have labels host instances. Then turn that into a decentralized Spotify.
@wjmaggos I'd also add the ability to broadcast radio, fw has a feature called radio but it's not live, like a radio broadcast, it's just playing uploaded tracks. This would have been one of the first things I'd want in a music-related server. Peertube otoh has live broadcast, I haven't tested it but if you can only broadcast audio, then that's basically like an online radio function right there.
