the fragmentation of the decentralized microblogging space is real. but there are real ways we can address this already. I think the path forward that really needs to take place is that software like https://elk.zone and https://pinafore.social need to support more protocols then just

Big opportunity for @elk here. Being built with Nuxt and by several of the framework’s core devs, they have the necessary expertise to modularize Elk, making it a protocol-agnostic toolkit.

We did it for chat messengers back in the day with Pidgin/Adium/etc.. We can do it again for microblogging (& links aggregators).
