@catgirlfingies has to be #GodOfWar 2, which incidentally was also my first #PS2 game.
I played a whole bunch of great games on the PS2, but none of them as often as GoW2.
It still looks great, especially if you run it upscaled through an emulator. 😎
Edit: got my God of War mythology messed up. 😅 I wrote in the image descriptions that Kratos was holding the Blades of Olympus. The blade of Olympus is the sword Zeus gives Kratos. The blades are the Blades of Athena.
Dragon Quest VIII. Not just peak #dragonquest , but probably one of my favorite #rpg . It wasn't ashamed of being a turn based RPG like so many series that tried modernizing during that time. It was Dragon Quest, but in 3D, and for the western version, fully orchestrated and voice acted.
It's still a beautiful game, and the cell shading lets it stand the test of time better than many games from the #ps2
@Roundcat@catgirlfingies the graphics in that era were so diverse, like developers were really trying to work out how to get the best from the system. But yeah, cell shading is kind of timeless 😁
@catgirlfingies I really liked Silent Hill 3 and Fatal Frame. Hill 3’s spooky atmosphere and plot was great. I became a fan of the franchise immediately after I played it. As an aside: I was SO bummed when they cancelled Kojima’s Silent Hill project 😭.
Fatal Frame had a cool ghost-fighting mechanic. It was like Pokémon Snap but with higher stakes. Taking a good shot meant that you weren’t going to die fighting a particular ghost 😄.
And yes, I played lots of horror games back in the day of PS2. I don’t play a lot of them nowadays because I only have a Switch now as my main console, and I’ve been prioritizing first-party games (no horror there!). I did play Luigi’s Mansion 3; does that count? 😄
@yaitorr same here.was just taking a look.but have not played it,yet,as there are other games to be finished firtst, before deep diving into this.especially since there is a second part, coming next year.also SH2 is getting a remaster for ps,next year.did you like it,back in the day?
@catgirlfingies I was going to say GTA San Andreas but it is Time Splitters :ablobcatheartsqueeze: I do not know but there were so many good games :nkoHehe:
@Hundstrasse I have played this a lot with friends. We have specially divided the TV with a cardboard box and a folding wall so that no one could look at the other screen 😁 @catgirlfingies
