@hacks4pancakes I have a “once it’s open it’s got to be eaten” kind of issue which is why I can’t have nice things 😂 It’s also why I’m trying to shift my ‘winter plumage’ at the moment! 🤦🏻♂️
@hacks4pancakes@ciphermonger my most memorable Oreo incident was that I was editing a video for class in high school with a buddy of mine. I just got home from work around 2100 with a beautiful package of Cookie Dough Oreos. 2200 hit and I started editing and snacking. 2330 hit and I reached for an Oreo, just to realize there were no more Oreos left in the package. I recoiled in horror, and then by about 0130 I was laying in bed wanting to die before my guts exploded.
@hacks4pancakes I’m trying to decide whether it’s more girly or more badass but it really doesn’t matter because it is very cool. I hope you’re not too sore.
@That_AC@hacks4pancakes iirc that particular style of helmet is called “Corinthian” - surprisingly not made of leather
(Sorry, had to make the Ricardo Montalban joke :))
May I recommend 5% lidocaine (e.g. Ebanel 5% Lidocaine Numbing Cream https://a.co/d/6SfKl6S)? This stuff got me through my full sleeve, including the elbow. Here’s what I did…
~ 1 hour before appointment, take warm/hot shower
dry skin, add lidocaine to area you want tattooed
wrap area in cling film (clear plastic wrap from kitchen)
@neurovagrant@hacks4pancakes this was my first thought too. I was like, "oh Lesley, I've been past a half sleeve by noon on my worst days too."

... Then I saw the context, and I'm sorry to hear you're going to have to slow down for a bit! Maybe a half sleeve of cookies might help after all?
@hacks4pancakes@neurovagrant I know, I don't eat a half sleeve anymore, I'm really trying to be better too, tired of not looking like the inner Greek god I could be. Lemme know when you add fitness counseling to your calendly 🤪
You probably already know, more for other folks who might see this - getting a whole lot done at once can sometimes make recovery interesting, but certainly not dangerous.
I have two full calf tattoos that were done in individual marathon 5+ hr sessions, because sitting still is also one of my mundane superpowers.
The week or so after was a little rough because the huge rush of bloodflow to the area made the skin tight enough that I had to "warm up"/"stretch" for a few seconds before I could walk comfortably.
Now that I think about it, I wonder if an anti-inflammatory or allergy meds would have made it better.
@hacks4pancakes took me a second to realise you didn't mean knitting 🤣 sounds like you'll be getting forced sitting down and resting for a few hours (if getting a half sleeve can count as resting!) have fun!
