I've had cats but they must have all been broken because they didn't like boxes.
The dog has a sofa bed in the front window for yelling at amazon and other delivery people, a fluffy sided bed under the vent in the dining room for convenient heating and cooling, A bed on top of another bed in the living room and a bed at the end of our bed.
She also has her own end of the reclining sofa and the living room and gets more use out of the chaise lounge in my office than I do.

@RickiTarr His space is on that end of the couch with that pillow. He regularly knocks it off when getting up, but looks so sad when it’s not up there that we put it back.

@RickiTarr while I can claim physical disability and COVID as primary reasons for why my grandfathers collected boxes of stuffs didn't get moved out of my living area for over a year, I also didn't really care because Penguin loved to sleep on it. She was initially quite confused with the smell and treated it as hostile, but got past that quickly. I like to think that although she never met him, my grandpa was the only other human that isn't me that she loved.

I just brought a new "random box" to my sister's house yesterday, for her evil cat, Barnabus, who enjoys masticating and impaling them. And laying in them. But many years ago, when we bought a new washer & dryer, our Dobermans loved hiding in those boxes.

One year we were going to have a cold snap, so I took a bunch of boxes insulated them with an old foam mattress topper. Then I cut a hole in the side of the shed so the cats could get in. I thought, “will they figure this out?” and immediately one walked in the hole I had cut and plopped in a box. ❤️

@RickiTarr We don't have enough room for that, by my MIL has a box in her living room that her cats love. It's been there for like eight years and it's still in good condition.

I'm not sure about those cats. Why haven't they destroyed it yet?

According to my cat, the box is for me to sit in as she is now in charge of the furniture. 😂
She does allow me a spot on the bed though, and I am trying not to abuse my privilege.😹
