@RickiTarr both are true
id recommend limiting the sources of your news to only a few and to try getting your news only from verified sources instead of from random internet strangers :)
@Skyweacer The verified sources are even more disturbing at this point, bad things are happening in the world, I feel sad for all the unnecessary death.
@RickiTarr Besides reading the news, I also like to read up on history, and what that tells me is that, despite there being generally fewer wars going on today than at any other point in history, the amount of violence inflicted by humans on one another has not changed much. Apparently, it’s always been like this. Or so my father tells me.
@RickiTarr@shadow were things always this bad and we blissfully unaware due to limited access to information vis a vis tightly controlled journalism/ news delivery?
we spend all day every day in a state of confusion + fear + fury + disbelief + high alert + high anxiety about things we have no control over thanks to the Internet. society at large in a state of constant agitation.
The 5% who control 95% of the wealth prefer it this way.
I don’t think that really holds true for Israeli society anymore, they all very much support the war on Gaza— they just want a better government leading it, less sloppily.
