If you want to follow Twitter accounts from Mastodon, there’s a bridge called Bird.Makeup that still works and is working on a workaround to this issue.
I’m working on a Mastodon client called Agora that integrates this bridge into the search, so that if you search for “elonmusk@twitter.com” it automatically loads the bridged Mastodon version of the profile: agorasocial.app/#/andrew.masto.host/a/11184456784…

@JoeBiden In all seriousness, I agree that we should make elaborate tax-avoidance schemes illegal, but acting upon that would upset a lot of donors, so we will see words, but no action.
@elonmusk 4. In 2014, Erdoğan shut down access to Twitter in Turkey "after a series of leaks... helped fuel a corruption scandal ensnaring his government." Turkey also obtained an order "to take down an account with Tweets that accused a former government minister of corruption."
@elonmusk 5. Twitter publicly blasted the government's actions and quickly filed petitions in Turkish court to reverse the takedown order and the ban. The takedown order was reversed two days later.
A couple of weeks later, following other losses in court, Erdoğan rescinded the ban.
@elonmusk 7. In September 2021, Musk's space exploration company, SpaceX, signed a deal with the Turkish government to "to launch Turkey's first domestically produced communications satellite."
One of SpaceX's Falcon 9 rockets, which was used to launch the satellite, costs $62 million.
@elonmusk 8. Musk met with Erdoğan via video conference in December 2021 to discuss "satellite and space technologies," "autonomous electric vehicles," and "lithium batteries for Turkey's indigenous electric car TOGG."
"Writers cannot build sustainable businesses if their connection to their audience depends on unreliable platforms that frequently change what you see or what partners they prioritize."
Yo, Journos! No, you are NOT "on Mastodon" if you are tweeting FOR your twitter audience and your client posts said tweets to Mastodon. See, we can TELL when you do things like say "@elonmusk ".... in your post.
You see, we like to think when we respond to a posting, it goes to you and you can see and respond to it. ie: that we're part of the conversation. When you post like I described above, replies go to the void.
@elonmusk@EndWokeness 7. The reality is that actual studies of US media coverage show the opposite. Crime perpetrated by Black people receive disproportionate coverage.
