Does my writing bring me joy?

I guess we have to be a little in love with our storyworlds to sustain a life in writing, right? So yes, absolutely. Every now and then I reread something of mine and go, "Whaaat? I wrote this? Really?! Coool!"

But, there are also (like most of us on this hashtag, I suspect) moments when I am absolutely mortified by ungainly paragraphs, purple prose, awkward phrasing and typos by the million. And we all know draft zeroes are things that most of us dread to return to reading.

But, the moments of joy are what sustain me. I suspect they sustain (most of, your mileage may very) you too.

Fujiwara Friday !

It's really rare to see Chika fan art with her original silver hair. Obviously I absolutely adore her pink hair, but there's something great about silver as well. It makes her look super elegant, you know? But nothing can beat the pink!

(ROUND 2) MATCH : 7. ASUKA LANGELY SORYU VS. 23. ANCHOVY

Links to the poll account and thread for those who can't see the quote post:
@AnimeGirlConnoisseur
https://poa.st/@AnimeGirlConnoisseur@bae.st/posts/AeTxezH3lEaiiYl3uy
https://bae.st/notice/AeTxexHDMyv1jK05Mu

** 7. Asuka Langely Soryu / Neon Genesis Evangelion **

Asuka has both won her Round One match against Botan as well as the implicit eternal match between Asuka and Rei. She also, along with Lum, is the final representative of any girl from any series made prior to the 2000's. With such stats, the red headed Eva pilot will be a tough opponent for the sensha-dō tank driver.

ChristJuinor offers an alt reason for liking Asuka: "Asuka might be a raging cunt, but because of that and her great looks she's also outrageously Correctable, providing her with fierce, raw appeal that transcends the mediocrity of her overrated show."
He also reminds us that Asuka is also fascist, "Asuka has been fighting for us all this time, now it's our time to fight for her..." He quotes a libshit article that points to Asuka as a White Nationalist meme girl.

Fash-E says, "I have too many Asukas to poast them all so that will have to do" Oh no! Here comes the spam again!

The monster girl idealist of the Fluffy Tail Mafia, Mongoose, declares, "Fluffy tail enjoyers stand with asuka."

Not everyone likes Asuka though. In fact, there are many detractors on the Fediverse, which will create many anti voters.
From Christmas_Man on The Bag Social, "Asuka has no redeeming character traits, all Tsun, no dere. I'm correct so I will not apologize."

** RR 23. Anchovy / Girls und Panzer **

It's hard to measure Anchovy's performance in the main tournament though, as her opponent, Kurumi, received the least amount of votes in Round One and in the whole Main Tournament thus far. Still, Anchovy did well enough in the Royal Rumble match. She is also the sole representative of Girls und Panzer, which has many fans on the Fediverse, and is a better and clearer representative of Anime Fascism than Asuka. Both girls will fight hard and well today. I can feel it.

ChristJuinor gives a succinct summary of Anchovy's qualities: "Italian, Fascist, nice hair, nice tummy, what's there not to like?" Mmmmm! Fascist pizza girl tummy!

Merchant Helios of Poast reminds all Supreme Anglo posters that "the pizza woman is honorary."

The outputs of "Arrokoth" by @qotonana are dynamic and slightly confusing in a thought–provoking way.

Watching the swarm–like shifting and meandering of the displayed particles in live view has an unexpectedly organic vibe, despite the reference to astronomy in title and description.

A beautiful project!

Have I ever scrapped a written character? Too many to count.

I just saw this question today but coincidentally, this morning I thought that the only way to make the pacing of "Blood Orange Orchards" work was to remove the love interest and focus on the main thematic thrust of the story. Sorry Kishore, I knew you well but you gotta go, bro.

Today was one of the last lessons of my course at the University, and I double-checked with my students if by their account we only had one more scheduled lessons to go (on Monday). I discovered that one of my students kept an accurate log of all the lessons. Problem is, I was sure today we were at the 23rd lessons (so one more lesson to go after today), and he was sure we were at lesson (two lessons to go).

(Some of you may already be guessing where this is going.)

@stvfrnzl in https://www.htmhell.dev/adventcalendar/2023/10/#22-font-size you say

> Font size is at least 14 pixels, preferably 16 pixels.

This strikes me as a bad recommendation. While pixels are abstract their sizing doesn't relate to a good font size. It seems that 1rem should be the recommended font size, as that is literally the font size that the user has configured.

Overriding the user's configured preference without a strong reason seems like a bad default to recommended.
