Fujiwara Friday !

It's really rare to see Chika fan art with her original silver hair. Obviously I absolutely adore her pink hair, but there's something great about silver as well. It makes her look super elegant, you know? But nothing can beat the pink!

The outputs of "Arrokoth" by @qotonana are dynamic and slightly confusing in a thought–provoking way.

Watching the swarm–like shifting and meandering of the displayed particles in live view has an unexpectedly organic vibe, despite the reference to astronomy in title and description.

A beautiful project!

mythopoetica, to writing

Have I ever scrapped a written character? Too many to count.

I just saw this question today but coincidentally, this morning I thought that the only way to make the pacing of "Blood Orange Orchards" work was to remove the love interest and focus on the main thematic thrust of the story. Sorry Kishore, I knew you well but you gotta go, bro.

Today was one of the last lessons of my #GPGPU course at the University, and I double-checked with my students if by their account we only had one more scheduled lessons to go (on Monday). I discovered that one of my students kept an accurate log of all the lessons. Problem is, I was sure today we were at the 23rd lessons (so one more lesson to go after today), and he was sure we were at lesson #22 (two lessons to go).

(Some of you may already be guessing where this is going.)

Does my writing bring me joy?

I guess we have to be a little in love with our storyworlds to sustain a life in writing, right? So yes, absolutely. Every now and then I reread something of mine and go, "Whaaat? I wrote this? Really?! Coool!"

But, there are also (like most of us on this hashtag, I suspect) moments when I am absolutely mortified by ungainly paragraphs, purple prose, awkward phrasing and typos by the million. And we all know draft zeroes are things that most of us dread to return to reading.

But, the moments of joy are what sustain me. I suspect they sustain (most of, your mileage may very) you too.

Teaching a lecture on theory development tomorrow. McGuire's (1997) 49 heuristics to develop theories are very useful. https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.1146/annurev.psych.48.1.1 My favorite of his recommendations is , to use drugs, such as LSD. I think the students will also like this one! :)
