As someone who almost always open-carries guns I must say, the one thing I dont like is how certain people assume your a republican or pro-trump when they see it. Today I had an experience with a tow truck driver who was overtly racist the whole ride home and I suspect its because he saw my gun and made some assumptions.
Pro-guns is probably the only topic where I align with the right at all really.

The US has widespread gun violence because an extremist group of conservatives dismantled all of our gun regulations based on a completely made up reading of the Second Amendment crafted in the last few decades.
Repeal the amendment and take their guns.

Some good news: The SC on Fri declined to revive a Missouri law that bars state & local officials from enforcing certain federal gun restrictions that the Republican-crafted law had claimed to nullify for violating firearms rights protected by the Const.'s #2A. Handing a victory to Pres Biden's admin the justices rejected a request by MO officials to halt a fed judge's ruling that invalidated the 2021 state law, called the 2A Preservation Act.
NICE! As much as I hate the right every once in a while they do something good. Apparently now states must issue permits to carry a handgun to anyone who requests it unless they have an explicit reason not to (like they have a criminal history)... This makes all states "shall issue" states!

Good news for Illinoisans: The IL ST SC found a strict assault weapons ban passed after the Highland Park shooting to be constitutional in a ruling issued Fri -ruling came in response to a lawsuit that claimed that the ban violated the equal protections clause of the #14A to the US Const. The court reversed a lower court finding & said: law doesn't violate the equal protections clause. Testing out some modifications on my 10mm Kimber M1911... Would like everyones thoughts. Attached is the before and after. I added bronze grip screws and a bronze muzzle brake. The muzzle brake is supposed to be functional but im skeptical if it does anything (It wasnt super expensive)... thoughts.
