Hackers are infecting Call of Duty players with a self-spreading malware
Hackers are infecting players of an old Call of Duty game with a worm that spreads automatically in online lobbies. a user on a Steam forum alerted other players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that hackers “attack using hacked lobbies,” and suggested running an antivirus.
#Hackers are infecting PC gamers who join online lobby with a worm in the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). This worm would infect any player who joins an infected online lobby.
#Activision is aware of the issue & have taken the game's online multiplayer functionality offline.
What's everyone up to tonight? I am on call, so I can't do anything fun outside of the apartment. Tell me about the cool stuff you're up to on this Friday Eve.
Went full #callOfDuty or #fortnite (whatever the #kidsToday call it) for the #laserCombat today and it went down a storm. Sadly I wasn't allowed to dual wield so I'll need to book a fake name next time and claim spilt personality. Suggestions for name welcome.
Call of Duty: The Board Game Kickstarter to Launch on August 1
In this officially licensed board game adaptation, developed in partnership with Activision, Genuine Entertainment, and Evolution, fans of the globally renowned video game franchise will become elite Operators and outthink, outmaneuver, and outgun their opponent(s) in competitive, action-packed shootouts for two or more players.
@AAKL This actually makes sense to me, #CallofDuty has always been a cash cow for #Activision, #Microsoft & #Sony. There's a reason why Sony wasn't too concerned that Microsoft would have made the series #XBOX-exclusive because Microsoft stands to make shitloads of money leaving it multiplatform.
That being said, as a #CoD player myself, most lobbies are almost always more than half filled with #Playstation owners, sometimes an entire team is gaming on the PS version of the game lol.
