Being an adult means realizing that while you love cat-sitting, having an actual cat will not work for you, because OMG, a week and there is so much cat hair! Everywhere!
This is Kelly. He’s an 8 week old kitten from a local feral colony. I saw him get hit by a truck towing a boat. When he got up from that and ran the rest of the way across the street I helped the woman who was chasing him to catch him. She’s allergic to cats and I’m not. So I’m now responsible for him. He has a broken jaw but is otherwise ok. #catsofmastodon#caturday#caturdayeveryday
All right, I want to ask the folks who love cats and follow the #CatsOfMastodon hashtag a question. Many of you have probably already seen me posting about Ginza, the feral cat I was able to convince to give up being a feral cat and move inside with me.
I've sometimes wondered and I get puzzled by the descriptions on the internet where Ginza is a type of tortie cat? Of course she has tabby markings and stripes on her, but she also has blotches of white. Here are some pics.
Mila is turning 18 and has severe arthritis. She can’t sleep on our heads upstairs in the bed anymore (ramps don’t help, due to the layout of our apartment). A few nights a week I pull out a mattress and sleep with her downstairs. And when I don’t.. she starts screaming at 6am until I come down and get sat on. I love her so much
There was a loud noise in the kitchen. On investigation there was only a spatula mysteriously on the floor, and Wordsworth (Greater London, UK). Apparently he was also checking out the unexplained movement of the spatula.
Parker played...? with both the kittens briefly this morning. He tolerated them then smacked back when they batted at his tail, then he left. Not totally mad, not totally fine with it either
Picasso (Central Bohemian Region, Czechia) was found batting around a pair of tweezers she had somehow gotten hold of. For some reason her humans took it away. They are so picky about what is a toy and what isn’t. She is far too creative to be held back by their preconceptions.

If the storms aren’t severe my husband and I are going out to dinner to celebrate our 31 yr anniversary of our first date. It’s actually June 5 but he has an appointment near the city today. We’ve always celebrated the 1st date anniversary since we lived in sin for 13yrs before marrying. 😜
