I can’t stop thinking about Mark Zuckerberg’s non-apology yesterday and why it upset me so much. I think I have it figured out. Confronted by dozens of families of children harmed by his products, and asked if he wanted to apologize to them, the best Zuckerberg could come up with was:

“I’m sorry for what you have all been through. It is terrible. No one should have to go through the things you have suffered. And this is why we invest so much and are going to continue to do industry-leading efforts to make sure that no one has to go through the types of things that your families had to suffer.”

This was not an apology. He expressed no remorse, took no responsibility for anything he or his company have done, and did not offer to make any changes, amends, or reparations. Mark Zuckerberg simply mouthed an insincere expression of vague passive sorrow followed by a forceful reiteration that Meta will keep doing more of the exact same things it has been doing.

Not only did Mark Zuckerberg not apologize, he doubled down and implied Meta was going to keep doing the same things, no matter how many people they hurt.

On this account, we have since day one made a stand for the fact that politics does not belong here.

But since some politicians refuse to do anything to improve the climate because they have shares in the companies that have created the climate crisis.

We do not want to wait until the moment when all the trees have been cut down for them to realize their money won't come and save them.

So needless to say we will always stand against the greed, envy, and pride of those who do not care for the future of this planet.

It is about time to choose a side, because at the end of the day, if you think those people who do not care for the future of the next generations care for you, you are being fooled and deceived.

While It's still ok to eat the rich, it's also ok to just put them in your compost pile. They are 98% shit and will be good for your veggies next year.

I'm seeing a bunch of posts popping up, and once more I am forced to say: don't eat the rich. Compost them and use them to grow something that actually tastes nice. The rich taste of hate and bitterness. Grow strawberries or something.

Wherein Immortal Technique drops knowledge about Eisenhower and taxing corporations:

"Eisenhower did things that Republicans would call Communist now. He told the major corporations in the United States 'You war profiteered during World War II. You doubled the price of steel! You made a helluva lot of money! So guess what?! Because we had a gigantic war, we're going to tax you to NINETY PERCENT!'

I am going to repeat that. Not 9, NINE ZERO! Some companies got 93, 94% taxes! Because they had to PAY BACK The MAN!

Nowadays they would call up their local news station that they OWN & tell them, 'we're going to call Eisenhower a Communist, right?'"

I was often accused of being in a liberal bubble because I had no patience for right wing idiots and was quick to block not only Nazis and fascists, but racists, sexists, queerphobes, MAGAts, and pretty much everyone else whose views I found problematic or challenging.

After much soul searching, I decided that my accusers had a point. I was living in a liberal, mostly-white, picket-fence-LGBTQ bubble. So I decided I needed to expand my circle and expose myself to a broader range of views. Since last year, I have endeavored to get out of that white, liberal bubble.

Does that mean I’m following free-speechers and trump bros? Hell no. I now follow every BIPOC and queer account I can find, read what they have to say, and boost their posts frequently. I have also started following activists, anarchists, syndicalists, communists, environmentalists, and other people who are dedicated to change and to actually fighting the oligarchs who are looting our world. I am exploring topics that these communities have well-developed knowledge and scholarship on, but that have mostly been suppressed from mainstream discourse.

If you feel like all the posts in your feed are all saying the same thing, why not switch it up a bit? Get out of your comfort zone and follow people who you currently think are “too radical”. Maybe you will decide your bubble is big enough to encompass some of their ideals as well.

Let’s change the world together.

Red marker handwriting on a bathroom wall. Text reads:
“Boss made a dollar Granddad made a dime But that was a poem From a simpler time.
Boss made a thousand Gave pa a cent But that penny paid the mortgage Or at least it paid the rent
Now Boss makes a million And gives us jack Smugly blames the workers For the labor that he lacks.”

There have been without real question over 20,000 poor people who've died due to their impoverishment just in the days of this story all over the mainstream media, but none of them have been celebrated in their lives nor had their families comforted nor defended.

These rich people who died on a tourist venture had many better choices that'd have avoided their deaths, but poor who've died& are harmed via impoverishment don't have many if any better choices often. Economically poor people get blamed for said deaths & injuries, with often other people trying to or successfully helping them getting punished via things like jail, yet now rich people want simpathy/empathy, as people coming to their aid generally get medals & other awards &no blame do they want nor will they even close to accept for these very optional bad choices????

"personal responsibility" is something I'm fine with, when it really is a personal & not dictated by the systems of governance in a society & that's why I see blame as earned for the rich who end themselves but not poor, who've no clear & real better options. So until deprevation level poverty is eliminated globally & all deaths of people via their errors in judgment are not treated in time &care by bank balance, just
!
