@Taskerland commented that my #Dragonbane flow-chart looked "Fiendish". They're not wrong, and I wanted to talk about that. More specifically about the hidden complexity in games & how designers need to think about things differently than players.

Just for fun, I decided to play around with the Vampiric Bats statistics for Dragonbane, so I toyed with both expanding their monster attacks out to six different attacks, as well as treating them as common animals. #TTRPGs#Dragonbane

The Dragonbane Bestiary Will Be Unleashed on February 27
The Dragonbane Bestiary includes no less than 63 creatures, each brought to life in text and art, as well as a random encounter and a seed for a complete adventure.
Packing for a few days off. Lots of geeky stuff: #DnD and #CyberpunkRED books, #SpaceHulk (so I can remember how to play the game), #DragonBane boxed set (so I can learn the game, and play the solo adventure), and a ton of movies for #MonsterWeek (yeah, it's coming back ... eventually).
Researching resources for #DragonBane, partly to get in touch with my (geeky) Swedish heritage, partly for a Knights of the Dinner Table column, and partly for a possible one-shot for @lairofsecrets.

I got the boxed set for Christmas, and I'm looking forward to playing it sometime in 2024 (it comes with a solo adventure, so even if the stars don't align for a group, I can still get in a 1-person game).
I have a #Dragonbane combat recorded and am in process editing it. I made a LOT of mistakes while running the encounter and was tempted to keep doing it until I got it perfect. Instead, I’m going to cut to me explaining mistakes I made. I think it’ll actually be more helpful.
Some good ideas from #dnd to port over to #dragonbane, but in effect a list of ideas that have value far beyond the limits of dnd. I think especially the reaction rolls/morale combination is sorely lacking in modern #ttrpgs, because as a DM it forces me not to fall into the same NPC behaviors all the time.
I do like the relic idea as well. That's useful as a worldbuilding idea. #blogpost#osr@ttrpg

I was thinking of playing the solo adventure that comes with #Dragonbane (side note: ridiculously impressed with the system) but when I reached for dice at my side-table I discovered that i only have narrative dice in the living room.
... i Just realized that #Dragonbanecame with a set of dice. They're just in the box where I'm not use to looking for dice. Didn't need to go find other dice.
