If you enjoyed Kill Bill and other films or then you may enjoy

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt14846026/

It was a blast I have to say, nothing realistic about it and the protagonist apparently can't be killed but it's hyperbolic violence becomes comedic pretty early on and carries the show nicely.

If you like that sort of a bloody mess of course!

Sylvia Scarlett is an awesome train wreck of a film: Katherine Hepburn in boy drag on a road trip with Cary Grant in their first pairing, a film directed by George Cukor with a script no amount of talent could save. Everyone should see it once.

I watched the 2023 "Cat Person" movie and I think my review is mostly "what the hell?".

The source material is a subtly observed, delicately written New Yorker story in which the tensions between men and (young) women are left ambiguous, hinted at, foreshadowed but never made explicit; the movie on the other hand takes us all the way from awkward conversations and not knowing when to text back all the way to a knife fight in a burning house.

I mean, is that … the joke? Is it like a black comedy in itself to take subtlety and bash me over the head with it? Is it like a dark meta-commentary on Hollywood movies and how they cynically destroy their source material by going to eleven?

    Truly very strange.

I recently rewatched “Your Name.” and as usual, felt like I'd been hugged and run over by a truck at the same time. I like all Makoto Shinkai’s movies but this one is really something unique.

The Big Event (no spoilers) occurs on October 4th. I think we should watch it every year on that date, who's with me?

Tried to salvage the negatives from yesterday by giving them a bath in fresh fixer but alas, it very quickly became clear that the developer hadn't got to them either. Chalking this up to a learning experience. I can't remember what was on them anyway (a combination of fast shooting on the street and ADHD memory issues) so it's no big loss.

Big thanks to everyone who tried to help yesterday anyway! (Especially @elkarrde)

@loottheroom Ouch for the lost photos! Unfortunately, it happens. 🤷‍♂️
The worst mistake I still do sometimes is pulling out the leader from the exposed film, not developing it immediately, and then, later, finding a "fresh" roll of film - the one I already exposed - and ruining it thoroughly with completely unsalvageable, misaligned double exposures. 🤦‍♂️
