wow, I'm actually finding that #KBin is far more screen reader friendly than #Reddit ever was. For example,
each comment in a thread is basically a blockquote, so I can cycle through comments with just one letter, which is really neat! It of course doesn't tell you levels deep like that, but I really like KBin.
It has headings for topic posts so I can just browse by heading level and other goodies. I hope this Reddit migration continues!
There are at least five apps that I know of currently in development for iOS. Unfortunately neither Memmy nor Mlem able to connect to kbin at the moment, something to do with the kbin-specific API from what @ernest, @BrooklynMan, and @gkd have said. Kmoon is specifically being developed for kbin and is multi-platform for iOS and...
@arstechnica I switched to #kbin kbin.social after some initial #lemmy exploration using #jerboa . Clean off Reddit (except Google searches landing me there occasionally). No regrets (well.. a bit... community vibe is much better in kbin, but non-migration related content, etc. is slowly getting there).
Waiting for a good android client - #kmoon seems promising - hoping to see a few open source apps that build up.
Hey @mastoblind and other #blind and #a11y folks: are there any #accessibility focused #lemmy instances or communities yet? Do we know the status of Lemmy with a #screenreader? The mod team over at /r/blind has been discussing the way forward for us if the #Reddit API closes. We have no firm plans or anything, but it would be good to know things about where the largest #federated Reddit alternative stands, and if moving the r/blind community to the #fediverse is even a workable proposition at the moment.
@Nuno@fastfinge@mastoblind Although I myself haven’t joined a Lemmy instance yet, a native app on Android called #Jerboa, looks promising. Interestingly, its interface seems to work better with Jieshuo vs Talkback.
Several iOS apps for kbin / lemmy are now in development!
