A question for #Linux#Wayland users. I am running Debian stable with Plasma and my computer was freezing randomly, and very often. Let's say once per day. I was about to start replacing hardware components to find the guilty party, but then I switched from Wayland to X11 and it has been a couple of weeks with not a single freeze. Is it possible that Wayland is this unstable or am I doing something wrong? My GPU is Radeon 6000 if this matters.
@darth All I can contribute is, that I'm on #EndeavourOS with #KDE, #plasma6 and #Wayland on my #RX6750XT and never got any freezes...
Nevertheless your problem could be any source, from hardware (faulty RAM, heat problem, ...) to software related.
Our new version of our configuration service Tomte (2.33.0.) brings a new module called text-boot to the users, which implements the correction of a bug when switching to TUXEDO OS 3 and Plasma 6.
Finally: In the next few days you will receive a notification on your device with TUXEDO OS, that your system is ready for the upgrade to TUXEDO OS with Plasma 6.
I have tried #Plasma6 on my #Fedora laptop. Seems all great, but I reverted back to #GNOME. I prefer the simplicity of GNOME. Yes, you can keep Plasma simple as well, but I am too tempted to tinker with all the possibilities there. Looking forward to try out #COSMIC deskop one day, though. But GNOME has been my daily driver (on my personal laptop) for more than ten years and I keep it pretty much in its vanilla config. Most of my work is done in the terminal anyway.
Truly very happy that Nancy Drew: Mystery Of The Seven Keys is released!
I spent a large portion of last year working on it, and I’m excited to see how all the fans will receive it.
Hoping to catch some of you streamers solve the puzzles, the HeR team really stumped me with some of them!
Hey @kde I'm looking for a working Plasma 6 "hello world" plasmoid. I just want a text label, but all the plasmoid things are set up properly, AND it works when you run it with plasmoidviewer.
It seems that on #NixOS (unstable), there are (currently) no premade builds of #Plasma6 on the cache server for #aarch64. Unfortunately, on my #pinebook_pro, the integrated 64GB MMC simply isn't big enough to build it from source, even on a fresh vanilla installation! :blobcatnotlikethis:
