It's been pretty difficult for me to stick to my training routine which has been the same for a long time:
At least 20km running per week
Outside 4 times per week
Gym 2 times per week
This week I had one 10K run outside, one 5K walk, one workout at the gym and one 5K on the gym threadmill. Now that I have written this, I still beat myself up that I didn't do enough. I should try and give myself some slack.

On ollut rankka viikko, mutta ylitin itseni ja jaksoin lähteä 10K-juoksulenkille! Tuntuupa hyvältä, kun ei ollut selviö, että tällä viikolla onnistuu. Metsäpolut eivät ole juoksukunnossa, mutta se ei menoa haittaa. Auringonlaskua on mukava seurata Suomen järvimaisemissa.
I haven't been running this week and I feel bad for it. I love running, but life gets in the way. I'm not a morning person and my work is time consuming so the only spot is during the evening nowadays from 6pm to 9pm and sometimes it gets too late. My daughter is having a hard time right now so I dedicate my evening hours to her. I'd rather not run in the night, it ruins my good night sleep which is important. So it's tricky.
I think this week is done, because my mom comes to visit today and tomorrow I want to spend time with my wife for coffee. Next week going to sort my calendar in a way I can run before or after lunch in between the work day. After all, I'm an entrepreneur. That might solve this tricky situation with schedules.
Today I started my morning running in New Zealand! …virtually. First time Zwifter. It’s freezing temperatures, pitch black and heavy snow in Finland so decided to start a gym membership to be able to run on a treadmill.
Running today was – in parts – pure torture. Very cold to begin with (below -10 degrees Celsius) and a relentless wind stinging all the time. When I came home my fingers were numb despite the thicker gloves I wear under such circumstances, my face was reddened and stung like hell from the frosty wind. But I had a good 130 minutes of Patrick Rothfuss‘s THE NAME OF THE WIND, so nothing of the above mattered that much. #Running#applewatchultra2#audiobooks#winter
@jameskoole@sebastianhahn@WTL@mlawton -20 ºC this morning, took this picture right after my morning run when I was melted down for a minute. It will most probably get colder here in Finland. Not very pleasant running temperature, it hits on your breath and face.
I feel so good, the run today was amazing! 12K without an effort. Put on a death metal playlist and felt the runner's euphoria in high speeds. My average speed is about 6,5min/km so this time I ran much faster, my race pace which is below 6 most of the time.
I think runs are like life, full of ups and downs and even a downhill doesn't mean it's going to be easy. The start and the midway of the route feel in parts effortless, but when it's near end, you'll start to count the amount that is left of it and when it's done oh boy. If my life ends up like this run, I'm happy.

Ei ollut YHTÄÄN intoa lähteä sateeseen, mutta sen verran ikävä polulle, että halusin mennä. Orastava päänsärky lähtiessä, mutta epäilen sen olleen kofeiinipäänsärkyä, kun en ole juonut kahvia tänään. BOOM-shotti naamariin ja matkaan. Alku hölkällä, helvetin kylmä ja paska sää, mutta voi pojat kun riemastutti päästä metsään. Kunto rapautunut kun viikkoja ollut ilman säännöllisiä lenkkejä. Kova halu olisi ottaa taas 4-7 kertaa viikossa tahti kuten aiemmin. Minulle toimii paremmin monta kertaa viikossa lyhyet ja kerran viikossa pitkis, kerran kuussa 20km tai enemmän. Hyvä että nyt lähdin, olisi harmittanut jälkeenpäin jos olisi skipannut. Mitä tästä opimme: Aina kannattaa lähteä. Onneksi satoi vain ripeksien, hyvä katsoa aina ikkunasta ennen lähtöä. En päässyt juoksemaan. 9h unien jälkeen järkyttävän huono olo fyysisesti, sitten iski migreenikohtaus, joka eskaloitui järkyttävän kovaksi tuntia ennen lähtölaukausta. Olen vetänyt itseni hieman liian piippuun. Uupumusta tuskin tiedossa, mutta otan varoitusmerkit vakavasti. #Juokseminen#FinlandiaMarathon#RolleJuoksee#Jaksaminen#Migreeni
Nyt sitten paistaa? Vaan ei auta, kun on ukko läpimärkä kenkiä ja sukkia myöten, eikä vatsakaan ole OK. En päässyt viikkotavoitteeseen, viikon kilometrit vain 19.6km, mutta ensi viikolla uusiksi.
