A study in gray, along a regular #halfmarathon route nearby.
I don't mind the weather so much, but it does get a bit tiresome in late March & early April.
Pretty big #fitness milestone! 100lbs down since August of last year
Only a couple pounds away from my goal weight, then I'm going to start slowly ramping up my calories again and start focusing on #strengthtraining and training for a #halfmarathon this Fall!
Finished my Half-Marathon race today in a better-than-expected time of about 2h25m. Was able to keep a pretty consistent pace, until the last mile where I ran the fastest mile of the whole event!
(Mile 12 was slow because I had to stop and fix the cushioning in my shoe.)
#running#HalfMarathon
My first #marathon#race, done! Official result was 3:51:39.8, pace 8'50"/mile. I was ranked overall 50/167, in males 40/102, or in my age group 5/9. This is slightly slower than my PR in practice (3:50:33, pace 8'48”).
But the official time didn't account for the three times I was lost (!) and had to either retract or asked people (I was not the only one). According to my watch I earned PR on marathon: 3:44:58, pace 8’35”, and #halfMarathon: 1:45:19, pace 8’02”. (1/2)
5th time is the charm: I finally cracked my 1st sub-4h #marathon today! Moving time was 3:50:33, pace 8’48”/mile. For each half I was actually faster than my best official #halfMarathon PR (1:55:16 < 1:56)!
Weather was typical #Seattle: nagging drizzle. Temperature feels like 40F (4.4C) w/ wind 7 mph (S). Thanks to my son on the bike (he came even when losing 1 hour sleep to #DST change), we performed no-stopping fueling twice, and I only brought two gel packs on me w/o phone.
Cambridge #HalfMarathon day. Time 3:01:37 - so v. similar to last year - running pace almost identical in fact as there were a couple of stops (Trinity’s gravel path was not my friend). One thing about the wave starts is how the majority of my club have finished when I was at ~5 km 🙃. Will be sore in training this week, then will need to prepare for a few longer practice runs on the run up to the #LondonMarathon. Had lots of positive comments on my cow leggings! #running#UkRunChat#TeamNHRR
It was a really brutal race for me. I had a lot of new experiences today, but thankfully, getting swept at a race and taking a DNF (did not finish) was not one of them. I'll do a more complete write-up later this week, but for now, I did finish the half marathon and so earned both a #HalfMarathon and #DumboDoubleDare medal. 1/2
Didn’t have a lot of expectations around the Cadbury Half Marathon since I went into it without any specific training. Would have been stoked with any time under 2 hours but the course was a little long. Ended up doing 22.2km (instead of 21.2) in 1:59:01. I’m counting that as a big win! #SlowBoizRunClub#running#HalfMarathon
Finished the year with a half marathon which originally was just going to be a 2hr easy run was feeling good around 15km so decided to up the pace and hr to complete the 21km distance. On the whole even though there’s been set backs this year, its been very productive, very enjoyable and cathartic and extremely happy with a total of 2268 km distance ran/walked for 2023 #running#longrun#halfmarathon#adidasrunning#runningcommunity#runnersofmastodon#mastorunners#oldguysrule
Done with today's #Seattle Half #Marathon! Woke up at 5am, left home at 6am, arrived at Seattle Center at 6:30am, started the run at 7:30am, and finished in 1:56:21 (pace 8'53")!
I was 936 of 3112 overall, and 42 of 189 in my age group!
