Song of the Day - No 323
Madness - One Step Beyond

Originally by Jamaican ska singer Prince Buster in 1964, "One Step Beyond" was covered by Madness for their 1979 debut album of the same name. The track retains its ska roots while introducing a British pop flair.

Sad to hear that Hepcat singer Gregory Lee passed away recently. He certainly had a sweet and clear voice.

Didn't listen to a lot of Hepcat frankly, but I love the tracks "I Can't Wait" and "Riding the Region" that were on the Hellcat Records "Give 'Em The Boot" compilations, which I listened to constantly throughout high school. Nostalgic for me, and otherwise fantastic chill tunes in that classic ska/soul pocket for sure.

Okay, Jukebox Friday Night's theme is "Up In the Sky."

All I can think of is Superman, which is nonsense, but that's how my brain works. "Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's..."

To ekstremalna muzyka z ultraantyreligijnym, agresywnym przekazem.

Klimat świetny, dobry wokal i to jeden z tych krążków, gdzie czuć autentyczne oddanie black metalowi.

Warto sprawdzić Amerykanów z New Brunswick.

Since posting up my Goldfinger album cover re-creation earlier this week for Music Monday, I've had them on the brain.

So, for VGM Wednesday, I'm going to post their one song that is so intrinsically tied to video games it instantly makes you think of them.

Here's Goldfinger's "Superman," which many folks first heard in Tony Hawk Pro-Skater https://songwhip.com/goldfinger/superman
