If this looks familiar it's because I've posted a few other photos from this sunset. The surface of the lake was a mirror. The light swept through many colors in mere moments.
(This is not the purple sunset I posted at #11. That happened in November. It was a good year for violet in the skies.)
The Thin Gold Line. April 21, 2023. Wolverine Lake, Michigan.
After a couple days off, let's pick the #Top25sunsets countdown back up with this lovely moment from April when the clouds above and the mirror smooth lake below combined to draw golden lines across the sky.
Duck Trails. April 25, 2023. Lakeshore Park, Novi, Michigan.
I stopped here with a friend of mine on our way back from dinner, since it looked like a nice sunset. It turned out to be much better than nice.
This was a surprisingly good sunset photo from my iPhone. One other iPhone sunset photo made this #Top25Sunsets list. You'll get to see it in the top five.
I didn't get out to see as many sunsets this year as I did during the height of the pandemic, but there was still plenty of sunset watching and photography in 2023. I ended up with 78 finalists for the Top 25 of 2023 countdown. We'll start with batches of four from the 48 honorable mentions, which are mixed up in more-or-less random order. Enjoy!
