Self-determination for trans people is nothing new. Sir Ewan Forbes changed the sex on his birth certificate in the 1940s, announced his new name in the newspaper and legally married his wife. His cousin challenged the change for reasons of inheritance, but the judge ruled in Ewan’s favour.
"Through my own identity as a trans man, and one of a race other than white, I really wanted to share my own experiences to show that everyone's on a different path. It's not an easy journey and I don't think it's ever really over. It can be emotionally draining, but it can also be really rewarding." Leo Sheng
Please see information about a 20 minutes online study to learn more about how transgender (including non-binary) and cisgender people feel about their appearance. The study will help researchers learn more about how to provide psychological support for transgender people. Not sure if a term for this exists, but I propose it as a better replacement for misandry - basically, a reason both queers and women demonize and abuse testosterone takers/makers, the overblown or completely fabricated negative psychological side effects of having it in one's system, and the way it's scapegoated as the root of many societal ills. Also, the specific way trans men are dismissed in queer spaces.
I can't imagine being as successful and imaginative as #JKRowling, and dedicating my life to the perpetual harassment of #transwomen. Like, what the hell went wrong in her life to trigger a detour from the money and the adoration of fans to target a vulnerable minority demographic? It's just so weird. And it's only trans-women she has a problem with. She never says anything about #transmen. Maybe someday we'll learn her origin story.
I’ve officially been on Testopel (aka “testosterone pellets”) for 3 years! :blob_cat_dance:
Testopel is a form of HRT where tiny rice-sized pellets of testosterone are implanted in the body through a small incision in the hip / butt cheek area. The pellets release testosterone over a period of 3-6 months (the amount of time varies for each person.) I started taking Testopel in March 2020, after previously being on testosterone gel. I consider it a huge improvement from gel because my T levels have been more stable and I only have to worry about my hormones every few months instead of daily which is SO convenient and really helps with dysphoria.
Here is a thread where I talk about Testopel and my experiences with it. Feel free to ask questions if you have any.
I can't bind because of chronic pain, and trans tape isn't holding my tits because it's heavy, I can't do surgery either because it takes more than morphine for me to not suffer, what should I do? I'm lost.
Content warning: Reference to conversion practices.
More than a quarter of Asian trans people have been subjected to conversion practices. It's time to ban conversion practices and that ban must include trans people.

gotta say i don't like how many "how to pass ftm" guides are straight up just like. be monotone and uninterested and don't engage in your "feminine" hobbies and don't wear bright colors and don't be polite and don't smile at people and don't show emotion ever. like how precisely is this a healthy thing to be teaching people (especially the young people these are often targeted at)??? i am a bubbly boy. a cheerful chap. a merry man. a good-humored guy. a glowing gent. a veritable ray of fucking sunshine and i am NOT toning that down!!!! fuck you!!!!!!!

James Barry born 1789, Barry was a British Army surgeon. Before he died he left behind a remarkable professional legacy and a simple request: that his body remain unexamined after his death and that he be buried in the clothes he was wearing when he died.
“My trans siblings are the bravest and most determined, compassionate people I have ever met, and I honestly believe that together we can do anything.” – Lex

Working on my newsletter right now. I've got bathrooms on my mind because of these new bathroom bills so I reckon I'll write the humorous tale of what it's like to use the men's room the first time at 38.

You know what's really inconvenient for proponents of a fringe pseudoscientific theory about trans identity? The name they gave the theory, which suggests that rapid onset gender dysphoria would have a rapid onset.
The coiner of the term, along with a conservative think tanker, bemoaned the headache of having to defend "rapid onset" when really they just want it to mean all trans men, guys! #trans#science#news#transmen
I was fairly apprehensive when I decided to watch Abigail Shrier at UVA last night. Shrier's really a Big Bad for transmascs, or at least for me, having popularized the idea of ROGD and convinced so many parents that trans boys are girls suffering from a social contagion and need conversion therapy.
