President Biden has signed a new amendment in the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill that will make it borderline impossible to track private jet activity. This puts the kibosh on social media attempts to hold famous folk accountable for their jet-related CO2 emissions, although @thrillist reports that a new study provides some insight into the worst celebrity polluters. Here's more.

A few days ago I presented a photo of the footpath leading down into the natural entrance of the caverns. Here is a view looking into the large chamber. This was before the conversion to all LED lighting which is supposed to be quite nice.

In January 1956, 20-year-old Joy Fox was nursing a broken heart, so she sold her engagement ring, left her home in the small riverside town of Wivenhoe, England, and set off on adventure. She's been traveling solo ever since. The BBC spoke to her about her first trip to Italy, her 84th birthday vacation to view the Northern Lights, and where she's going next.
It's vacation-planning time (and also Travel Tuesday), so here are a few federated Magazines to follow, whether you're looking for gear recommendations, ideas for family travel, outdoor adventures, restaurant suggestions in the world's best cities (we want to visit NYC) or hotel tips.
The sleekest, sexiest train ever! Wandering through the historic Pioneer Zephyr is a highlight of any visit to MSI Chicago. The futuristic design is only part of what you'll see . . .
A castle for #TravelTuesday today, and this is Kronborg in Denmark, located in Helsingør, or Elsinore, and the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet. We visited in 2017 and had an interesting guided tour from a local in Shakespearian costume complete with projections of ghosts on glass.
Moko Jumbies are stilt walkers that wear colorful clothing and appear at festivals and celebrations throughout the Caribbean. Thrillist's Vanita Salisbury visited St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, to learn about this 200-year-old tradition and the people that are keeping it alive.
Random photo from the #travel archives. This was last year in #Gothenburg, #Sweden. It pains me to say it because we generally find something to love about everywhere we go, but Gothenburg did not leave us with great memories. The weather was overcast on our visit and seemed to reflect the attitudes of the natives. A less friendly bunch we've never encountered.
Last week, Virgin Atlantic completed the first transatlantic flight that used "100% sustainable aviation fuel" to power the journey. Some celebrated this as a giant leap for the airline industry. But environmental groups blasted the flight as pure greenwashing. And, points out Thrillist's Ophelia Garcia Lawler: "The return flight home for everyone from New York to London just used regular old jet fuel."
Since I've almost finished writing up posts about our time in Ålesund last year (I don't like to rush things) here's a photo of the Norwegian town as we were leaving it. We had some gorgeous weather which really brought out the best of the location.
Ever dreamed of spending a vacation surrounded by books? Gladstone's Library may be your dream destination. It's the U.K.'s only residential library and has 26 bedrooms, 150,000 books, and several book-lined reading rooms with desks and armchairs where you can read, study and write (in the past decade, more than 300 books have been worked on there). Emily Monaco wrote about staying there for BBC Travel.
