Things that lamps are useful for.
One thing is for sure, this abomination won’t move with us into the new apartment.

I'm thinking about Mastodon in a wide view, in the world of social media, this feels a little outsider, while at the same time it also feels like it might be the future. So, let's talk about it!
What do you get out of Mastodon?
Why are you here?
How has it compared with your other social media experiences?
What do you see for the future of Mastodon?
What do you want to see?
And basically anything else about it you want to say about Mastodon.
LET'S TALK!

alcea,

For the last maybe 10 years I’ve been using a journaling app called as a diary. As times goes on it's really interesting to see what happened "on this day 8 years ago”. Learned recently of a new app called and have checked it out. I don't think it'll replace DayOne for me, but Daylio is mostly free and has some improvements over DO so I thought y'all might like to know about it. It's better than DO as it's possible to "microjournal" with it. You can just choose your mood from 5 options, and then there are sections for things like health, social, chores etc. So in 10 sec you could click on Good, and then Cooking, Gym, Movies and tv, and that's it. You can also add full notes like a real diary if you want, along with photos, and it also has a goal tracker and comprehensive stats per day. I really like it. For instance, today I just chose good, coffee, dishes.

Daylio is https://apps.apple.com/us/app/daylio-journal-daily-diary/id1194023242, DayOne is https://apps.apple.com/us/app/day-one-journal-private-diary/id1044867788

This is a collection of 5 essays + introduction that explore frictions between traveller and travelee as well as the inherent instability of social, cultural and language hierarchies.

the wife is going for a swim on this fine saturday morning. i’m not really in a swimming mood myself, so it’s back into the universe for me. i’m about two-thirds through , let’s see if i can’t finish it today.

i think most people would look at me and say i’m thin. i think that’s relatively true, and i don’t have any severe body image issues or anything like that. but i have noticed some… changes, over the span of just a few short years, and especially over the last 6 months or so.

i used to very comfortably fit into jeans with a 30” waist as recently as a year ago, but now my new 34” jeans (bought because my old jeans just straight-up don’t fit anymore) are feeling really snug. will i be wearing 36” jeans next month? at this rate, likely yes.

almost certainly it’s my sedentary lifestyle. i don’t eat terribly, but i don’t go out of my way to eat healthy either. and now that i’m a couple years past my 30th year, my metabolism is starting to slow down and i need to make a conscious effort to do something about this.

wow! after my workout this morning, i drove back to the old house to clean and gather up some remaining junk. checking my metrics now, and i see that i 200%’d my move goal for the day! i feel like damn, if i can keep myself on this kind of pace, i might make some progress.

i am exhausted though. in a good way, i guess.
