Are there any events at least somehow similar to #FOSDEM in the USA or Canada? Mostly looking for something that at least has security tracks but also opensource in general.
Q&A sections of conference recordings are like Jeopardy. You only know the answer and good luck trying to figure out what the question was, because I guess passing a mic to the asker is not something anyone plans for.
Kherm, #FOSDEM . (but also others)
Watch Andrew Lukoshko's #FOSDEM presentation on obtaining and modifying source code, building packages and checking their binary compatibility, maintaining security advisories, and building all images possible, as we do for AlmaLinux.
My "SemVer in Rust" talk from @fosdem is now available as a blog post!
I used the "annotated talk" format pioneered by @simon to make it easy to skim the material, skip ahead, and jump between the written post and the video.
☀️ We were at #FOSDEM at the beginning of February! 🤩
Not only we brought there our colourful and lively booth 🎈, but some of our team members hosted talks and discussions 🗨️, and we even co-organized the Legal & Policy Issues devroom with @conservancy 💡
💭 It was very insightful, and all the recordings are publicly available! ⏯️
It always gives me joy when I see that people find useful the /sys/kernel/debug/devices_deferred sysfs entry that I only added to scratch my own itch 🙂
One thing that was evident at #FOSDEM was the move to Mastodon / #Fediverse handles for speakers - seems as though Twitter is still hanging on here in London today. 🤷 Of course nobody is calling it X.
