I was hoping to make my third Legacy an electric one, but #subaru has been dragging its heels in the #EV space (and, no, I wasn't not interested in their rebadged Toyota EV because, comparably, its blown out of the water by the competition).
Now it sounds like even their 2025 models will be ICE or hybrid at best. We've owned 4 subarus, but they lost me to #hyundai during the EV transition. Cmon guys bust out with the amazing #outback and #legacy EVs
I would just like to remind folks, as a very happy driver of an EV. All EVs, like my Hyundai Kona, are not Teslas.
Full disclosure, my 2019 Kona did get recalled in 2020 for a battery replacement, but the cause for the recall was a rare occurrence (as a recall should be). If Tesla was serious about solving climate change, they would offer a car share option. You shouldn't have to own an expensive hunk of embedded carbon that spends 95% of its life in a car park in a city with great public transport.
Toyota made tentative steps in this direction a few years ago when they bought Cityhop.
I enjoy my Hyundai EV subscription with Zilch but it's still not quite what I'm looking for.

When a major automaker is prioritizing EV cars over its existing fossil fueled cars, that's a sign that the market not only is changing, but has changed significantly. It's only a 44 day pause in ICE production so that it can focus on building its new EV plant, but still, it's a big deal!
