I've had two nights in a row of solid sleep after a month and a half of intermittent #insomnia
What helped so far:
---getting off my devices earlier at night for a proper wind down
---breathing with intention to calm
---listening to guided meditation
---Ruminating wake ups were mitigated by going back to breathing technique & being present with the breath sounds and my heartbeat
Got panicky last night but instead of letting it build I took some emergency meds. Tried watching TV to distract while they kicked in, but it was a very tense police procedural and it just made me anxious. After panic then diazepam I fell asleep early and was out like a light for a couple of hours. Then I woke up and I’ve been awake since, tossing and turning. I’m not anxious or fretting about anything, just… very awake. Might read my lovely fantasy novel for a while #insomnia
Good morning friends, happy Thursday! Sunshine and coffee are the only things keeping me going. I finally gave up and started my day at 3:30, and the dogs were not happy about it, they prefer 4:45. I'm hoping to keep my head down and phone on DND to avoid pesky salespeople. 😉

Yes, if I'm up early, it's generally not a good sign.
Either my sleep has been disturbed by noise, inside or outside the house, or my sleep was disturbed by stress in my life (these days usually Internet strife. Following Covid, I'm unfortunately a bit more sensitive to online stress)
After a month of restful sleep my insomnia has started back up. It seems like every other month it switches. Waking up at 2:30am every morning sucks! I'm on day 3 of no sleep and my ass is dragging...
2:45am again. If I get out of bed, I could probably cut out a dress but that will probably wake up Gibson, who loves to chatter and doesn't understand "inside voice" #insomnia
Wow, not in the least bit sleepy. My nightgown pattern arrived.i could cut it out. I could finish coloring a mandala I started yesterday. Or just get really high and finish The Great. #ChronicInsomnia
Good morning, world! Ok, it's the middle of the night, but it is technically morning. And I'm wide awake but not in the mood to work. So here I am seeing what is going on out there. #Today, I really have to make cookies for my dear husband (and for me, lol!). Life is better with fresh baked cookies!
I'm trying to think about what to make for me so that I don't end up eating all of his.
For someone who is an #Artist, I sure do suck at being #Creative. #Insomnia
