Am increasingly seeing this #blocking as a culture of fear, or more real as a culture of fear pushed as power politics.
People are suiciding the idea of the #openweb agen, they just can't help themselves. 40 years of worshipping of the #deathcult affects people's attempt to be humane "common sense" wins in the current mess each time.
There’s an interesting parallel universe where “open culture” is primarily about community, not licensing, and in that universe the reddit+stackover moderator strikes are the most interesting thing to happen in open culture in a long time.
All of our rights and progressive policies comes from underfunded counter cultures. All of them, everything we value. If we are at all seruse about making the world a better place, we need to shift this balance, and we need to actively stop people from #BLOCKING this needed shift
This is a hard conversation to have with #mainstreaming people - but without this hard conversation, counter culture projects are outside their "common sense" thus blocked.
Looking at the world I see "common sense" insanity and mental illness as the dominating social paths. This wave has been building for 40 years and is maybe finally building to a crest. To get any good outcome small groups of us have to surf down this cresting wave of social madness and disintegration to plant the seedlings of fresh growth #XR in the compost of todays #dotcons and #dearhcult worshiping decay.

We are saturated in #spam in all #mainstreaming culture, look anywhere and this is obvious, from Netflix to Google search, from old school TV to legacy news media, signal to noise is feeding mental and social mess, uneasy and desease.
While we have our heads down worshiping the #deatucult we cannot do anything about this inhumane mess.
The public and press are already enchanted with Bluesky. They know how to build a brand, they have big resources, the tech is advancing rapidly, and users are thrilled. If the Fediverse doesn't have a response to it, besides just building "bridges," it's in danger of going Betamax. And that would be bad.

@witchescauldron prat ish behaver comes in waves, that matchs the waves of #mainstreaming and the Alt reaction to them, this flotsam can make things messy so good to shovel and compost.
@MissingThePt It's interesting to see the #enshitification hashtag as an evolution of the #dotcons hashtag. The first is capture and then dispole the second is capture and then profit. One is about capitalism, the other is some liberal whitewash that #mainstreaming people can say.
