Agree, this is the we have 3 funding applications in for this lets pray it works its way past the funding of alt tech.

The problem we face on the is the "shouting into the void" that the brings with it. This is affecting all new social networks, the signal to noise is degrading everyone's experience. I think in part this is a failure of copying that we need to move past soon

🤩 Aren't you just delighted by all those proprietary software apps for the ?

😮 Don't be. Each time you choose proprietary you help turn the fedi slowly in the direction of the usual corporate hellscape that the rest of the Web already is.

😨 And then we end up in an online space where for years we can complain to each other how we squandered an opportunity and how won once more.

🎯 Use apps instead, created by the public for the public.

The is an “accidental” reboot by the , so it’s herding cats to get anything done, not a bad thing, not a good thing It’s what it is.

One way to move away from this mess is grassroots producer governance.

Otherwise, live (and die) with the mess, and try to stop people bowing down and praying to the is a step to keep the in place.

A path out of the funding mess

The is an unspoken negative effect of traditional foundation funding agendas on grassroots projects. These grassroots projects often have different priorities and goals than traditional organizations, and the formal processes used by existing projects, such as decidim.org and loomio.org, may not be well-suited for them.

team aims to address this issue by focusing on empowering communities through decentralized decision-making processes. Their experience and track record make them well-suited to carry out this mission.

If successful, the project could have a significant impact on the way communities make decisions in the future. By empowering grassroots movements and organizations, it could help to ensure that their voices are heard and that their needs are addressed.

Rule making is always the death path of any working Alt/grassroots structure https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/ this comes soon after the dictatorship of the invisible hierarchy, its mess making.

This is a scripted fail that is recurring for 20 years of the in tech and "governance" we do need to do better

Hamishcampbell, to mastodon

Resource use is an issue with the codebase, it's not a on using it but is an issue to think about using a different codebase instead.

With Mastodon going down the path and wedded to feudalism as "governance" we also face these common issues for tech projects.

We make a mess in good to try different paths

The project emphasizes voluntary collaboration by prioritizing sortition and 'messy consensus' in achieving decision-making and a more equitable power distribution for all.

Draw on experience gained through the five years involvement with instances and the larger . The aims to decentralize democratic systems for grassroots governance, free to all with a focus on producers and consumers. This project does not seek to create a single organization dictating protocols or standards. Rather a vision to enable organic creation of synthesis, where competing arguments are broached to formulate corrective procedures and proposals for implementation.

Hamishcampbell, to random

project aims to address challenges that currently exist within grassroots organizations by creating a tool set for 'Do It Yourself' (DIY) governance rooted by a 'Keep It Simple Stupid' (KISS) standard framework. Human organization and governance are inherently complex and messy. Standard approaches tend to enforce rigid structures - forcing messy processes to be, 'cleaner', 'neater' and 'tidier' - through such forced behaviour, inevitably failing.

The purpose and vision for our project is to address challenges and conflicts that currently exist within grassroots organizations and assist in the management of those that arise. By creating a tool set for 'Do It Yourself' (DIY) governance. We aim to develop a 'Keep It Simple, Stupid' () standard framework and process. This will become which can be used in future solutions, organically evolving through time.

20 years of selling us libertarian individualism to push aside collective support of the "revolutionary" which is when we last had left tech power.

For this 20 years we have had pushing as left tech, this is OBVIOUSLY a disaster we can't keep doing. Yes, let's not get into a prat fight, this is needed as a supplementary.
