21st century “semi-retro” nook coming along. Put up a shelf today which currently has the #WiiU on it along with a #NintendoSwitch dock below. Plan is to get a #PS2, #PS3 and #GameCube to go with it.
Just realised yesterday was my mstdn.games anniversary. I’d been on another Mastodon instance briefly beforehand, but this is where I’ve spent the majority of my time on the Fediverse.
I finally finished #AssassinsCreed 2 from the Ezio Collection on the #NintendoSwitch. 45h clocked — I didn’t realise it was quite so big when I started! For a game I mainly play for half an hour before bed each night…it took me a while. Really good though, much improved from the first game.
Need a palate cleanser next. Not sure if and when I’ll go back for Brotherhood/Revelations, considering the commitment required. #ShareYourGames#MstdnGames
The big difference I’ve found between using my Switch and Steam Deck is that with the Deck, I’m often tweaking settings or getting distracted dicking around in desktop mode; with the Switch (for good or ill) it’s just switch it on and play something.
It’s not a criticism, I enjoy the tinkering! It just hammers home that the Deck is very much more a portable computer than a console.
Not sure what to do about Final Fantasy VII Remake. I am in the last chapter where there are two boss fights. I failed the first one after a really long attempt, and I’m struggling to motivate myself to go back to it, especially knowing there’s another after. But I’ve sunk 45h+ into the game and don’t want to just give up now.
It’s finally happened! So far I’ve spent more time dicking around with the Linux desktop and changing controls than playing games, although I did play Aperture Desk Job earlier. 🤣#ShareYourGames#MstdnGames

One thing that I really enjoyed when this Mastodon instance launched was the sense of community. Over the last twelve months I feel like a bit of that has been lost.
I guess some of that is natural, the instance is much bigger than before and I imagine most people aren't following everyone on that instance, but it's still a bit sad.
This is a long winded way of me asking this: What have you been #playing recently?
