This week for #VGMWednesday hosted by @miona the theme is #WholesomeWaters. As an old-school #SonicTheHedgehog fan, my mind went immediately to the music from Aquatic Ruin Zone from Sonic 2 for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive.
The original Last Ninja was style over substance – a good-looking but fiddly game. The sequel refined the gameplay and ramped up the visuals and audio. It still had annoying moments, but felt more fluid. The odd juxtaposition of the ninja in New York was also fun – not least how he used two toilet flush chains to fashion himself a nunchaku. Let’s hope he washed his hands after that.
I've been doing some testing of MS-DOS games on the Anbernic RG35XX.
First and foremost...DOS games look GORGEOUS on this device. The pics don't do it justice, the colors pop and the graphics are super sharp. They also run super well, at least the games I tried from 1996 and earlier. I didn't attempt anything in the 3D realm (heh) due to control constraints.
Which is one of the big troubles with running DOS games on a handheld...no keyboard. As long as it's a run and gun or has Gravis support, there shouldn't be any issues with running.
Oh...and getting by copy protection is a hurdle too. Might want to whip out those cracked copies. :)
