It's Pride month, and now that we're 55 years after Stonewall, it can be awfully easy to forget why it's all such a big deal--and what Pride exists to do.
This week on #StainedGlassWoman, we're diving into the lifesaving importance of Pride and the Prejudice that makes it so necessary. Grab a rainbow flag, show yourself a little love, and join us as we talk about internalized self-stigma and shame.
So what's like the least absolutely awful dating app if you're #trans
I was planning to finally look at one if only to find some local gamer/fuckbuddy friends (moreso than a relationship tbh) but that whole thing has...made it pretty awkward and it was never going to be fun
"Help, community, support, connection: it IS out there for us. And the more we fight to access it, the more empowered we will become to make the changes necessary for trans joy – which means trans health – to become the rule, and not the exception." Fred

There are two kinds of people. Those unconvinced , who sit on the fence until they see mass murder being added to this horrible list, in order to be convinced.
And those who get that end stage capitalism leverages transphobia as a convenient gateway to fascism.
The time to take action is now.

Most of the year this account only speaks about compost. Our goal is to inspire a few people to be the change and understand how they can help the world by developing composting systems at home or for their community.
But you also have to understand that your host is a #lgbtqia person who has to hear a lot of horrors year-round about #trans people. Being #transgender means that a lot of the people on earth don't want you to exist at all.
This is why we celebrate #pridemonth to remind you that there are more important issues on this planet right now.
By a domino effect, a few people can inspire a lot of others to develop the right habits so that we don't mess up this planet.
I am a long time #poetry fan. I'm catching up on Poetry Magazine podcasts while I'm traveling. Really enjoyed this interview with #trans poet, torrin a greathouse. They read their poems and describe their creative process in such a visceral way. It was well worth an hour of my life to listen in.
I guess I should get a filter word list for my youtube BEFORE being trans becomes an issue, anyone got a good list?
I'd like semi-conservative set since I believe youtube's filter just obliterates any message in the filter, rather than putting it up for moderation. So it should be like, "no reason to use this full phrase". I could use a more aggro one for Discord since I think it at least shows you what gets moderated
Write for TransActual. We're looking for perspectives from sex workers, pieces about trans joy, articles about parenting and starting a family, and the experiences of people's lives as a trans person within your local community.
From the archives, 2022: ”We know now from decades of clinical practice, and now over the last couple of decades of research, that the earlier that we affirm someone, the better outcomes they have in terms of mental health and physical health.” https://www.texasobserver.org/healthcare-for-trans-kids-is-not-abuse/
For many trans people, being able to transition can be absolutely life changing and life saving.
One person told us "Before transitioning, I could not see myself in the future. That person didn't exist, there wasn't a space in the world that I could fill. Now there is."
How many times have you looked at this trans person or that trans person and found yourself just in awe of them, feeling hopeless to ever measure up to their transness? I know I have.
This week on #StainedGlassWoman, Red Seems Sus, which means we're investigating imposters... or rather, why trans folks often feel like we're not trans enough, or not really trans by comparison to others. I promise: you won't be thrown out an airlock! 🤭
Are you having transition related surgery soon? Do you know what to expect from your recovery? You might find 'What Do I Need to Know About Surgery?' useful. Read it at https://tinyurl.com/TransActualSurgery
Just so folks know where we are. 231.68 raised, $2343.32 remaining. Eri's #rent for $1,500 is due in ONE DAY and we've barely made a dent in this ask for rent and #bills. Eri is trying to uplift themselves from their situation by finding #work, which hasn't been going well for them. Let's make sure a #trans#disabled#Black person gets to do that this #PrideMonth. The rest of the #LGBTQ+ community wouldn't be where they are without #queer Black folks. @mutualaid#TransCrowdfund
