snapshot 20231022 of @opensuse#Tumbleweed recently published is full sync, so you can "zypper dup" or grab fresh ISO like i'm doing actually

Krita is a very powerful digital painting software. I was able to customize my brushes by making them unique. Right now I am testing #Krita on #OpenSuse#Tumbleweed and I must say it is very smooth. I look forward to Krita's developments for #wayland. Also try painting with a wacom using Opensuse OS. Follow me on mastodon.
2023 is the year of the #Wayland display server, at least for me on @openSUSE#Tumbleweed. I'm here and I'm not going back to #X11. Outside of a few minor issues, it is working fantastically well!
I did a thing! I made an #elinks container image using #Alpine#Linux. Now you can browser the internet from your terminal like a pro from one of your fancy immutable distros.
Update: I rebased it to #OpenSUSE#Tumbleweed - not because #Alpine was unworthy or anything, but elinks wasn't compiled with javascript support where OpenSUSE's is. The updated container is building right now in Quay. Enjoy!
@shipp That said openSUSE Tumbleweed's future is also not certain.
With the uncertainty concerning the development and support for Yast, along with KDE support, openSUSE Tumbleweed's future may shape up to be different as well.
#argh: I have to perform a #Linux#kernel bisection on my Thinkpad T14s G1 (AMD) with Fedora's full-blown distro config, as the problem does not occur with a config trimmed by localmodconfig. 😟
@kernellogger Oooh. I'm performing a post-mortem crash dump analysis using drgn on my Thinkpad E595 running #opensuse#tumbleweed. Broken resume, too. But mine broke with 6.5 already…
..still messing around with Gnome 45.. ..i'm missing a couple of extensions that aren't yet updated for 45, but overall this seems like a stable release.. ..one disappointing change is that now you can only "Reduce Animations", in previous versions of Gnome you could completely disable animations
Mal ne Frage für #it#computer bubble. Hab da eine Handvoll Lenovo t460s die alle win 10 und ms office haben. Soll ich win 11 oder desktop Linux und welches Office dann? Was macht mehr Aufwand?
@Ihazchaos
Empfehlenswert ist m.E. #opensuse#Tumbleweed. Es gibt stete Aktualisierungen i.S.v.
Recently, I switched from Windows to Linux, tried many distros, and ended up with the Ubuntu rolling-release. Things went well for some days, but I started facing some issues like printer issues, gaming performance issues, and overall Ubuntu performance issues. So, I switched to where it all started, which is Windows 10. Now...
A little thread on Feilner-IT software setup... At the core of it all is #Owncloud@ownclouders . I use it for file sync, share and a simple backup Inside that, I run @collabora and @ONLYOFFICE .
You should test it, you won't believe how fast those two run on #ownCloudInfiniteScale. I even wrote my first Linux-Mag-Article completely in the browser, with strong auth, on the way to #zerotrust, both from linux, chromebook or mobile clients. I dont do Windows or Apple, but it's avail. 1/
And finally, there's my seven-screen desktop – two laptops, running @opensuse#Tumbleweed on energy-efficient yet fast #ryzen hardware. Pure opensource, software like #barrier connects the devices, so that one keyboard one mouse controls all screens seamlessly, including clipboard.
(disclaimer: Only non-OSS might be hidden in Chrome or Codecs. I don't usually use proprietary, no one needs that, it's not the nineties anymore :-) )
Oh, and of course I am a proud user of @kde and @librewolf /7

We have all non tech family members including over 75 year old on Linux. And it works just fine, we haven't had to do any maintenance for months (they know which button to press for normal updates).

Change my Mind! - I like the linux, but some things keeps me staying on Windows.
