After upgrading to 0.5.0 I ended up without any sound outputs.
I had to manually remove configs from ~/.local/state/{pipewire|wireplumber} and ~/.config/pipewire to get it working again.
This is not how usable system should do migration to the new version.

As promised, a basic migration guide on how to transform your 0.4 config files into the 0.5 format is now available! 🥳

📢 As some users have been surprised by this, let me make this clear that 0.5.0 uses a different configuration format, so any configuration files that you previously had in place will stop working after the upgrade ⚠️

I will provide a small guide on how to migrate things shortly.

Are some of you users, like me, taking the rocky road, using your via to strengthen this novel with sometimes elaborate for vendors to help package their (s) so they work in a flatpak DAW?

I guess I'm a bit addicted to living on the edge. 😜🫣 For example, I switched to , or early on, despite some "rocky roads".
I usually enjoy to try new things. I think that's why I like the idea of a so much. I often feel a bit like unwrapping presents at Christmas when I'm my system. Hahaha, I haven't done the latter in decades. 😅

Question regarding and - Sometimes when I boot my PC after hibernation my audio interface is replaced by Dummy Output - Is there a way to fix it by restarting Pipewire/Wireplumber somehow?

My current solution is to unplug/plug the physical device and then it works fine again 🤔

On 38, (or ?) randomly stops outputting sound (to my USB DAC) frequently enough (once a week or so?) that I now have to put this in my workstation's ~/.bashrc because I'll never remember this type of magic incantation:

alias restart_pipewire="systemctl --user restart wireplumber pipewire pipewire-pulse"

/ now ships 6.4 which has all patches for correct camera rotation and location (front/back - used for automatic mirroring in some apps and better camera naming).

This is a great step for having a good camera experience out of the box - the only thing still missing is being installed by default (see https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Pine64-Arch/issues/537)

After that, one can e.g. install or @dino from and it should just work.

One of the issue preventing distros from shipping a / camera stack is the fact that it requires as session manager, which again does not always play nicely with , if that is still used as sound server.

Unfortunately switching to PW for sound is not always possible yet because some mobile-specific packages depend on PA. So if you want to help with camera enablement, please consider helping with issues such as https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/wys/-/issues/13 :)

Dreading the conversion of my media-session configs to once 21.11 is fully released 😢

I've had some custom nodes wired up so I could manage audio specially and pass desktop audio through a second account. I'll have to play with wireplumber next month, there might be a better way to do it using the configs but I'm concerned about my ability to debug it 😅
